NFL 2025 – Week 9 Sunday Early Games Tips and Betting Preview

The majority of the NFL 2025 matches on Week 9 of the season take place in the usual kick off slots on Sunday as some of the biggest games of the campaign so far are played out on what should be a cracking day of action.

Once again we have six matches live on the TV in the UK for us to enjoy across the two channels who showcase the league. Those who want all the scoring plays can get them via the RedZone show while some bookmakers stream the games too.

1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)

Eight matches take place in the first of the two kick off slots on Sunday with three of them live on the TV in the UK for us to enjoy. Over on Channel 5 there is the NFC North showdown between the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings while the two games on Sky see two current leaders of their division battling it out when the Pittsburgh Steelers host the team with the best record in the league in Indianapolis Colts while the New York Giants host the San Francisco 49ers in the other game.

That leaves five other matches over the course of this slate with the pick of them perhaps being the one between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons. Another high profile match sees the Green Bay Packers taking on the Carolina Panthers while the Cincinnati Bengals and Chicago Bears also go at it. The other two matches see the Houston Texans meeting the Denver Broncos in another good looking encounter while the Tennessee Titans meet the Los Angeles Chargers in the other one.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)

Three matches take place in the second part of the day and they are all on TV for us in the UK to enjoy. The marquee match of the Sunday games is on both TV channels as two teams who were favourites to be the AFC representatives at the Super Bowl going into the season meet when Josh Allen and his Buffalo Bills side host Patrick Mahomes and his Kansas City Chiefs team in the latest episode of what is a growing rivalry.

The other two matches kick off slightly earlier than that one with the Las Vegas Raiders looking to pick up a much-needed win when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars who are fresh off their bye week after their travels to London. The one remaining match takes us to SoFi Stadium where the Los Angeles Rams will look to keep pace with the leaders in the NFC West when they welcome a weak looking New Orleans Saints side.

Betting

While all the attention will be on the big match between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs, where I admit I am tempted to take the Bills at odds against, I’ll refrain from that and focus my betting attention on one of the lower key clashes as I’m a little surprised that we can get the Chicago Bears on a spread of less than a field goal when they make the trip to take on a Cincinnati Bengals who are sweating on the fitness of backup quarterback Joe Flacco who is a doubt with a shoulder injury.

Chicago Bears saw a four-match winning run end last week but a defeat away to Baltimore is no damaging defeat. They now get to go at a Bengals side who have lost five of their last six and who are really struggling defensively, so even if Flacco is fit there is no guarantees the Bengals win. Chicago have struggled in the red zone this term but they go up against the worst red zone defence in the league here. This could easily turn into another shootout like the Bengals’ defeat to the New York Jets did last week but I would back Chicago to get enough stops on defence, and maybe the defining takeaway, to get the job done here.
