NFL Playoffs – Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons Betting Preview

We will find out which two sides will head to Super Bowl LI on Sunday night when the two Championship matches are played out. The action begins with the battle for the NFC title as the Green Bay Packers head to the Atlanta Falcons.

The winners will be the first side to be booking their flights to Houston for two weeks time and will be Super Bowl bound.

Atlanta Falcons

This powerful Atlanta Falcons offense which is bordering on an uncontrollable juggernaut is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down. Many wondered how it would fare against a lights out Seattle Seahawks defence last week but like they have for much of the season it just overran it on their seemingly unopposed march to the big showdown.

Matt Ryan and Julio Jones will always draw plenty of attention in this side but admirable mentions should go to Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman who have allowed the Falcons’ offense to take a whole new balance and bring danger from all angles. With their defence improving too Atlanta are here to make a big say in this match.

Green Bay Packers

This amazing winning streak of the Green Bay Packers has reached eight now and if anything their win over Dallas in the Divisional round of the playoffs last week was the best of the lot. They flew out of the blocks early, gained control and then when Dallas came back they had the quality to get back down the field and win the game.

Injuries haven’t helped Green Bay and they hamper them here too but the spirit they have shown in adversity this season suggests they shouldn’t be ruled out. Whether their backfield can stand up to the test they are about to receive will be interesting to see and it could well decide the outcome of this match.

Betting

I think the Atlanta Falcons are the worthy favourites in this match but I’m not sure number 12 should ever be 2/1 to win a playoff match. He’s that good that he can win games on his own and with that in mind I’m going to have a little punt on the Green Bay Packers.

This is obviously going to be a shootout of the highest order and with the two best gunslingers in the game in opposition points and touchdowns should come almost as a guarantee. I think the 7 touchdowns line is very low and it just has the feeling of a match where the team who has the ball last will win.
