NFL – Week 10 Sunday DFS Fantasy Breakdown

As ever when there is a Sunday of the regular NFL season taking place there is a massive $1 million prize to be won playing Fantasy Football with our official NFL fantasy partners at DraftKings.

The big game of the week is on Sunday night this week but there are plenty of fantasy options in the daytime games.

Despite that there are plenty of players to choose from and here is our guide for who to pick and who to avoid in your teams this week.

Quarterbacks

PICK – Philip Rivers (Chargers) – $6,700

Rivers just gets it done. He is incredibly consistent year-in year-out. In spite of major injuries to his receivers he remains a solid top 10 fantasy option. I like him to use his TEs a lot in this game against the weak Dolphins safeties.

PICK – Dak Prescott (Dallas)- $6,100

I’ve tipped Dallas to beat Pittsburgh in my Sunday Games preview. The Cowboys will run all over the Steelers defence and this will allow Prescott to complete a lot of high percentage passes. I can see a solid day in terms of completion percentage and a couple of short to mid-range touchdown passes.

AVOID – Colin Kaepernick (49ers) – $5,800

I struggled to find a QB I don’t like here. Kaepernick is a slightly less obvious choice than Jay Cutler. The 49ers offence has shown a couple of signs of life in the last two weeks. They have been helped by long range touchdowns but they are not sustainable. Arizona needs a win and the 49ers are perfect for them to get it. I think they get after Kaepernick and he struggles.

Running Backs

PICK – David Johnson (Cardinals) – $8,400

The most expensive RB this week but also with the best matchup. The 49ers are 32nd in the NFL against the run and they give up receiving yards to RBs. Johnson is the best all-round RB in the NFL this year – bet on that to continue on Sunday.

PICK – Ezekiel Elliott (Dallas) – $7,900

Another obvious pick but the Steelers let Jay Ajayi run for 200 yards+ 3 games ago. The Cowboys OL is a lot better than the Dolphins. Elliott and running mate Alfred Morris could run wild here.

PICK – Mark Ingram (Saints) – $5,400

The matchup is great. Ingram is coming off a 100 yard game with a 75 yard touchdown run. The Broncos gave up 220 rushing yards to the Raiders in primetime last weekend. Yes, the Raiders OL is better than the Saints but the Broncos have struggled stopping the run all year. Ingram will probably share the load and Drew Brees will get his yards but I can see a touchdown for Ingram on Sunday and a solid rushing performance.

PICK – Darren Sproles (Eagles) – $4,300

I pick Sproles because he is a triple threat – running, receiving and returning. He has the shiftiness to turn short gains into touchdowns. I like him against the Falcons LBers in space.

AVOID – Devontae Booker (Broncos) – $7,000

The Saints defence is improving throughout the season and the Bronco’s run game is stalling. Booker has fumbling issues too. The Saints will mirror the Raiders in week 9 and use a running game and short passing game to control the clock. That puts the onus on the Broncos passing game to keep them in the contest. This cuts into Bookers opportunities.

AVOID – DeMarco Murray (Titans) – $6,900

The GB run defence is amongst the best in the NFL and Murray is carrying an injury. I actually think the Titans will run on the Packers as the Tennessee OL is good. I just feel there will be more a sharing the load approach here with Derrick Henry.

Wide Receivers

PICK – Julio Jones (Falcons) – $9,500

The best WR in the NFL can get his numbers against anyone. This is a big game in the early kickoffs and a game the Falcons will be looking to win. Teams have been succesful on deep passes against the Eagles defence. Jones could be primed for one of those massive games.

PICK – Demaryius Thomas (Broncos) – $6,700

The Broncos need to get their number one WR more involved in their offence. The Saints CBs don’t scare anyone – even Trevor Siemian. I think the Broncos will have to throw the ball a lot in this game as the Saints will control the clock – hence targets for Thomas.

PICK – Michael Thomas (Saints) – $6,100

Thomas is becoming Drew Brees favourite target. The Broncos have injuries at the CB slot and the Saints have WRs that can be utilised to create mismatches. Willie Snead is another option for this game.

PICK – Jamison Crowder (Redskins) – $5,000

The Vikings are in free fall. The injuries to the star players are taking effect now after a strong start. Crowder is having a strong 2nd year and is also a return threat in this game.

Tight Ends

PICK – Greg Olsen (Panthers) – $5,900

Olsen is the favourite target for Carolina QB Cam Newton. Olsen is on career high pace for catches and yards and comes up against a Chiefs secondary that is vulnerable vs TEs.

PICK – Jason Witten (Cowboys) – $4,000

The Cowboys leading receiver comes up against an underperforming Steelers defence. I think the Cowboys run at will in this game leaving Witten in lots of one-on-one battles. I can see him having a big game with 6 or 7 catches.

AVOID Jordan Reed (Redskins) – $6,200

The Vikings defence has really strong safeties and I think they will nullify the smaller of the Redskins TEs, Reed in this game. I think his team-mate Vernon Davis may do well as he has a size advantage to box out the Vikings DBs.

Defences

PICK – Houston Texans – $3,800

The Texans play the Jacksonville Jaguars this week and are top priced. The Texans defence is very strong in its own right whilst the Jaguars offence has been a mess all season long. Missed throws, drops and turnovers have haunted them in almost every game. The Texans looking to maintain their division lead will be confident here of success.

PICK – Atlanta Falcons – $2,600

The Falcons play a rookie QB in Carson Wentz. Wentz has struggled in the last 4 games after a sensational start to his career. The Falcons have enough of a pass rush to get some points from sacks and I can see them getting a couple of turnovers too.

AVOID – Denver Broncos – $3,100

Teams now know how to attack Denver. Run the ball down their throats and attack the backup DBs. Drew Brees has the experience, skills and support cast to make this a long day for the Broncos defence.
