NFL – Week 11 Sunday DFS Fantasy Breakdown

As ever when there is a Sunday of the regular NFL season taking place there is a massive $1 million prize to be won playing Fantasy Football with our official NFL fantasy partners at DraftKings.

The playoff fight intensifies in week 11 as teams try to distance themselves from their divisional and conference rivals. This has a huge impact on the fantasy football market as players are leaned on more than ever to help their teams win.

Despite that there are plenty of players to choose from and here is our guide for who to pick and who to avoid in your teams this week.

Quarterbacks

PICK – Tom Brady (Patriots) – $7,800

Easiest pick of the week as the top rated QB in the NFL plays one of the worst defences. Yes, TE Rob Gronkowski is questionable but it shouldn’t matter. The Patriots will bounce back from their week 10 defeat against Seattle and Brady will get you a lot of fantasy points.

PICK – Marcus Mariota (Titans) – $6,700

Nobody has more touchdown passes since week 3 than Mariota. He is also a threat to score on the ground. This week he plays the Colts 28th ranked defence in a crunch divisional matchup. The Titans have a powerful OL and a strong running game to support Mariota. They are a team on the rise and I think Mariota has another big game.

PICK – Tyrod Taylor (Bills) – $5,600

Like Mariota, Taylor is a threat to score touchdowns as well as pass for them. The week 11 opponents are the Bengals, a team that has gone soft on the OL and DL in the last 3 or 4 games. This bodes well for Taylor to have a decent game on Sunday.

AVOID – Jameis Winston (Bucs) – $5,900

The issue for Winston is that he is turnover prone and he is playing the Chiefs defence in week 11. They are masters at forcing turnovers and if that happens here Winston’s value will be minimal.

Running Backs

PICK – LeVeon Bell (Steelers) – $8,800

Bell had a strong game in the week 10 loss to Dallas. He was a threat running and catching the ball and scored a touchdown. He plays the Browns 28th ranked run defence in week 11 so the matchup is great.

PICK – Ezekiel Elliott (Dallas) – $8,000

This week will be a decent test for the Cowboys elite OL. The Ravens are ranked 3rd against the run but I’m not sure they can stop Elliott. That OL is just so powerful and we saw in week 10 that Elliott is a threat catching the ball too. The NFLs leading rusher will score in week 11 and have a decent game with 100+ yards from scrimmage.

PICK – Spencer Ware (Chiefs) – $6,000

Ware is also a dual threat as a fantasy option. He faces the 24th ranked Tampa Bay rushing defence in week 11. The Chiefs couldn’t get their offence going last week so a return to the running game is on the cards. This will allow QB Alex Smith to manage the game and not commit turnovers. This plays into Wares hands!

PICK – C.J. Prosise (Seahawks) – $4,200

Yes, Thomas Rawls is back but the Seahawks cut Christine Michael and Prosise is coming off a big game with 150+ yards in week 10. He might split carries with Rawls but Prosise is a big play threat. He faces the 8th ranked Eagles run defence but has value as a receiver – 7 catches last week for 87 yards.

AVOID – Frank Gore (Colts) – $5,000

I think the Colts will have to rely on their passing game against the Titans 6th ranked run defence. I also think the Titans will score a lot – meaning the game will be a shootout = lots of passing.

AVOID – Todd Gurley (Rams) – $5,000

Rookie overall number one draft pick QB Jared Goff gets his first start in week 11. He will likely be nervous and the Dolphins will focus on taking away Gurley forcing Goff to throw a lot. The Dolphins are decent against the run – in the top 10 in the NFL. Look for that to continue.

Wide Receivers

PICK – Odell Bekham Jnr (Giants) – $8,500

The matchup is excellent with the Giants facing the Bears struggling pass defence. Since his 222 yard game in week 7, Beckham has been held below 100 yards in each game. He is primed for one of his big games and I don’t see the Bears having a DB that can cover him.

PICK – Allen Robinson (Jaguars) – $7,400

Robinson has had a poor season in part due to QB issues but also drops. He looked something like the 2015 version last week and I can see that continuing against an average Lions secondary in week 11.

PICK – Jamison Crowder (Redskins) – $5,400

Crowder just continues to produce fantasy points. He has touchdowns in 3 of the last 4 games. He gets the odd rushing attempt and he returns punts. He plays the Packers defence, one that was shredded by the Titans in week 10. Crowder has all sorts of potential with short underneath yards-after-the-catch plays this week.

PICK – Breshard Perriman (Ravens) – $3,400

The Ravens passing game is inconsistent. They will need it to improve against the Cowboys in week 11 and I think it can as the Cowboys are vulnerable against deep passes. The Ravens are starting to involve Perriman more in their passing game and he is big with speed. He is a low value high reward pick.

AVOID – Mike Evans (Buccaneers) – $8,000

He will be matched up on Chiefs CB Marcus Peters for much of the game. Peters isn’t quite as good as the media portrays. Yes, he gets a lot of turnovers but he does give up catches. The thing is I’m not sure the Tampa Bay OL holds up against the Chiefs pass-rush. If Winston gets hit a lot this will throw off the passing game impacting Evans numbers.

AVOID – Jarvis Landry (Dolphins) – $6,600

The Rams defence is really good. They are tough to pass on and have a decent pass rush. Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill might struggle against the Rams and that means I can’t pick Landry.

Tight Ends

PICK – Jordan Reed (Redskins) – $5,900

Reed is in that elite group of TE’s and the Packers have had issues covering TE’s this season. You could also look at Reed’s TE partner Vernon Davis as a pick this week.

PICK –Tyler Eifert (Bengals) – $5,400

The Bengals need to try to get back to what worked for them in 2015. That included involving the TE  a lot on the offence. Yes, Eifert has been injured but he is now back and plays a Bills team that isn’t the best at covering TEs.

AVOID – Kyle Rudolph (Vikings) – $3,900

The Vikings play the number one ranked Cardinals pass defence in week 11. The Vikings offence has struggled mightily in recent weeks and this matchup is horrid for them. Arizona have a strong safety tandem and I think they can shutdown Rudolph.

Defences

PICK – Kansas City – $3,400

They get sacks, force turnovers and play an error prone QB Jameis Winston in week 11. Great matchup!

PICK –Arizona – $3,100

The Vikings offence is struggling to get a running game going and doesn’t possess a big-play receiver. The Cardinals defence is getting better as the season progresses. It continues here.

AVOID – Vikings – $3,300

The Vikings have a good defence. The problem is that the offence struggles might mean it’s on the field a lot against Arizona. I’m not sure it can contain the explosive players the Cardinals have for 60 minutes.
