NFL – Week 7 – International Series – New York Giants vs Los Angeles Rams

The second NFL International Series game of the 2016 season takes place this Sunday in London. This is the first game to be played at Twickenham Stadium and features an all NFC clash.

New York Giants vs Los Angeles Rams (kickoff 2.30pm UK)

Each team enters week 7 with identical 3-3 records. Of the two the Rams have probably slightly overachiever so far whilst the Giants are a little behind their pre-season expectations.

The Rams have won without getting their running game going. Star RB Todd Gurley still has a rushing average below 3 yards per carry. Teams stack their defences to stop Gurley forcing Rams QB Case Keenum to throw the ball a lot. The Rams WR and TEs are a solid but unspectacular group that many defences match up well too.

The Giants too have had issues with their own running game. Their strength however is the passing game with QB Eli Manning and superstar and super-sulker WR Odell Beckham Jnr. The Rams will try to slow the Giants passing game down with a stout pass-rush led by the best defensive player in the NFL DT Aaron Donald.

New York is favoured to win the game but the spread is fairly close at 2.5. The Giants have a more explosive offence and this is why they are favoured to win.

For the Rams to be competitive you feel that they have to get Gurley going properly, like early in his rookie season. This would enable them to control the clock keeping the ball away from Manning. The Giants defence is actually quite a bit better against the run (12th) than the pass (22nd) so Gurley is the key to the game.

I think the Giants probably win the game but I like the player market better for a bet. Odell Beckham had a monster game in week 6 going over 200 yards receiving. His line for the game in Twickenham is only 84.5. He could cover most of that in one play so I think this is where the value lies.

NFL International Series – Game Two – Tips

Back Odell Beckham Jnr to go over 84.5 receiving yards with a 3.5/10 stake at 1.83 with Paddy Power.
