Premier League 2021-22 – Saturday 11th September Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The Premier League returns from the international break on Saturday with a lengthy day of action with eight matches in the top flight taking place across the three different kick off times we are back to now that fans are back in attendance.

As always two of those matches are live on the TV in the UK for us to watch and enjoy but for once the bigger games take place at 3pm where the UK blackout blocks those from being shown. There are all the usual ways of keeping up to date though.

Early Kick Off

The action begins at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon where we have yet another London derby taking place as Crystal Palace go in search of their first win under Patrick Vieira when they take on the leaders Tottenham Hotspur, the side who even after just three matches this term are the only ones with a 100% record left intact. They will be hoping to maintain that record when they make the trip across London on Saturday.

3pm Matches

There are two hugely high profile clashes in the traditional 3pm slot on Saturday afternoon. The attention will all be on Old Trafford where a certain Cristiano Ronaldo has his homecoming when his Manchester United side host Newcastle United. In terms of quality though, the pick of the matches is the one at the King Power Stadium where Leicester City welcome the champions Manchester City in what should be an entertaining encounter. Arsenal are also in action on Saturday afternoon. They host Norwich City.

There are three other matches in this usual slot with one of them seeing two of the smaller sides in the competition going at it when Brentford take on Brighton in what will probably be a good watch. Another good watch comes at St Mary’s Stadium where Southampton put their high pressure style up to take on West Ham United while the other game comes from Vicarage Road where Watford play host to a Wolves side who’ve done everything but score a goal this term.

Late Game

The action concludes at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea continue their promising beginning to the season when they play host to an Aston Villa who probably haven’t started the season quite as well as they would have liked. Chelsea were held by Liverpool last time out but will be looking to press on from there. Villa lost their opening match but have a win and a draw since then and have a chance to show that they have grown as a team despite the departure of Jack Grealish.

Betting

There are a few bets that tempted me on Saturday but with the status of the South American players chopping and changing by the minute I will leave most of them alone and just take the one I’m pretty safe on, conscious that we have just had an international break and not everything is easily predictable straight after one of those. The bet I like comes in the Southampton against West Ham United encounter where I’m expecting goals.

West Ham matches have been loaded with goals. They have scored 10 of them and conceded twice in two of their three games so far. Southampton aren’t shy in front of goal either. They have scored in all three of their matches but they have conceded in them all as well. That doesn’t surprise me because their high tempo, high intensity pressing style leaves them open to being exposed. West Ham aren’t quite as exposed but they look a lot more at it offensively this season. I like over 2.5 goals here.
