Premier League 2021-22 – Saturday 25th September Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

Another set of Premier League matches begins on Saturday where we once again have the usual three kick off slots on a day where once again the main protagonists are in action, including a match which even this early in the season might decide the destiny of the title.

As always on a Saturday there are a couple of matches on TV for us to enjoy over the course of the day and you’ll know the best ways of keeping up to date with the other games by now so there is no need to tell anyone.

Early Kick Offs

There are actually two early kick offs on Saturday with the main attraction very much coming from Stamford Bridge where the Champions League winners Chelsea host the side they beat in Portugal to win that crown, the Premier League champions Manchester City. This is a match which even this early in proceedings could tell us where the title might be going. The other match at the same time sees the third placed side Manchester United welcoming Aston Villa to Old Trafford.

3pm Matches

That means we have four matches in the traditional 3pm kick off slot on Saturday afternoon. Everton are the highest side on show in them, sitting in sixth place going into the weekend. They host rock bottom Norwich City at Goodison Park while the next highest ranked team are West Ham United. They go in search of another Premier League win when they make the trip up the M1 to Yorkshire to take on Leeds United at Elland Road.

Leicester City have certainly not had the start to the season that they would have wanted. They have the chance to pick up three valuable points on Saturday afternoon when they go up against a Burnley side who are under a little bit of pressure themselves heading to the King Power Stadium. The other match comes from Vicarage Road where Watford take on Newcastle United in a match both will be eager to win to pull them a little further clear of danger.

Late Game

There is one match in the later kick off slot and that sees a Liverpool side who will be hoping for the leaders Chelsea to slip up at the start of the day and then they will attempt to take advantage of that when they make the trip to the capital to take on a Brentford team who have made a really acceptable start to life in the Premier League but for whom this is by far and away the toughest test they have faced at this level so far. The Bees have nothing to lose though which makes them dangerous.

Betting

I’ll take a couple of bets over the course of the day with the first of those coming at Elland Road where West Ham United have to be taken to see off Leeds United with all the injuries that the home side have. They had defensive issues when they went to Newcastle United last week and now they might be without both Patrick Bamford and Raphinha for this match which would be major blows. West Ham get MIchail Antonio back from the suspension he had to serve in the loss to Manchester United last week and this big West Ham side should be able to feast all over a very small Leeds team. The Hammers did the double over a stronger Leeds side to the one they will face on Saturday last season and I think they can pick up a third straight win here.

The other bet I like is over 2.5 goals in the match between Watford and Newcastle United. Matches that these two sides have played this season have had goals in them. There have been 14 goals in the five games Watford have played and 19 goals in the five Newcastle outings this term. This is a match both teams will be eager to win so I expect them to go all out to try and score goals. There is certainly more of an attacking intent to the play of Newcastle this season but that comes with a defensive frailty. Watford have to look to go forward as well because their defence isn’t going to hold up to pressure very often so in a match where both teams will be desperate over 2.5 looks capable of landing.
