Premier League 2021-22 – Saturday 30th April Matches Tips and Betting Preview

Another weekend of Premier League action kicks off on Saturday when six matches take place up and down the country on a day which could be potentially big at the top of the table and at the bottom of it.

As with any other usual Saturday we have a couple of matches to enjoy live on the TV in the UK and then the other four matches will contain all the normal updates in all of the various places as it always the case.

Early Kick Off

The action begins at St James’ Park where Newcastle United will go in search of another three points when they host title chasing Liverpool. It will be interesting to see how the Toon go about this one, whether they are not fussed because they are safe now or whether they want to see how far behind the best they are and test themselves. If it is the latter then Liverpool might be in for a tricky afternoon because they were involved in a huge European clash as recently as Wednesday night and then they get the early kick off. You’d still expect the visitors to pick up the three points here though.

3pm Matches

There are four matches in the traditional 3pm slot on Saturday afternoon with two of them having a big effect on the relegation shake up. Burnley can do their survival chances the world of good and pile the pressure onto Everton if they can come out on top when they head to second from bottom Watford, for whom this is simply a match where winning is the only acceptable outcome for them. The other match at the bottom of the table sees Dean Smith returning to Villa Park when he takes his Norwich City side to face Aston Villa in a match only a win will suffice from for the Canaries.

The other two matches have little to nothing riding on them except pride and prize money although there was a hint from Patrick Vieira on Monday evening that he wants his side to finish as high in the league as possible so Crystal Palace could be up for it when they make the trip to Southampton. Two of the teams who don’t score many goals meet at Molineux where Wolverhampton Wanderers take on Brighton and Hove Albion.

Late Game

The final match of the day will have an impact on both halves of the table as Leeds United look to pull further away from danger of the drop when they host a Manchester City side who will be looking to reply to whatever Liverpool have done earlier in the day. If Liverpool lose then City could move four points clear at the top but if the Reds have won then Pep’s men will need to match that result to stay on top of the pile and in control of their own destiny.

Betting

I’ll go with one bet over the course of Saturday afternoon where I’m expecting to see the attacks of Southampton and Crystal Palace flourish now that they have nothing to play for. Southampton aren’t the best defensively anyway so you would imagine that Crystal Palace will be able to get after them and take the game to their opponents but Saints press high and are more than capable of winning the ball in dangerous areas themselves.

Neither of these two teams are playing for much but they both possess quality in the right areas and send the wide players forward to support the attacks. I’m not suggesting we are going to get an insane score out of these two although an early goal would certainly allow for such a thing to happen but I do like over 2.5 goals in the game. It was 2-2 when these sides met at Selhurst Park earlier in the season and something similar is expected here.
