Premier League 2021-22 – Wednesday 15th December Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The midweek action in the Premier League continues on Wednesday evening when yet again Covid-19 has put paid to another fixture which means that rather than the scheduled four games we now have three to enjoy.

All three matches are available in full on the TV so if you have a bet you’ll be able to keep a close eye on it, although if you need to watch more than one match you’ll need multiple devices as three of the four games kick off at the same time.

Wednesday’s fixtures are as follows: (7.30pm unless stated; UK TV in brackets)

Brighton & Hove Albion v Wolverhampton Wanderers (BT Sport 2)

Crystal Palace v Southampton (BT Sport 3)

Arsenal v West Ham United (8pm – BT Sport 1)

Preview

It is a big nice in the race for the European spots. The big game of the night as far as the upper part of the table is concerned comes from the Emirates Stadium where fourth place in the table will be the reward for the winners when Arsenal welcome fellow Londoners West Ham United for a huge clash. Arsenal are generally decent at home while West Ham continue to look good this term even though they only have one win in their last five outings.

The other two matches involve sides in the middle of the table and one of those comes from the Amex Stadium where Brighton and Hove Albion should be nicely refreshed after their game at the weekend was cancelled. They take on a Wolverhampton Wanderers outfit who will be without Raul Jimenez after his red card against Manchester City at the weekend. The other match comes from Selhurst Park where Crystal Palace welcome Southampton.

Betting

I’ll go with the one bet over the course of the evening which comes from Selhurst Park where I like Crystal Palace to continue their form against a Southampton side who are now five matches without a win with a couple of concerning results mixed in among them. Palace weren’t in the greatest form in terms of their results prior to the weekend but a solid win over Everton should boost their confidence going into this one.

To be fair to Palace, while they were four matches without a win prior to the win over Everton they were unlucky to lose to a last minute penalty at Leeds and a wonderstrike by Fred put paid to them getting anything at Manchester United but in the main their displays have been good even if they haven’t picked up points. Palace have tightened up defensively recently and if they can keep the Southampton attack quiet I think they can find enough at the other end to see off a side who have conceded 17 goals in eight away games.
