Premier League 2022-23 – Saturday 11th March Matches Tips and Betting Preview

Another weekend in the Premier League begins on Saturday when six matches take place up and down the country as we head towards the final international break of the campaign, with plenty of teams in need of the three points on offer.

We’ve had a few indifferent Saturdays this season but this one is very much a normal one with the day beginning and ending with a TV game with the rest of the matches in between needing updates in the usual places to stay on track with them.

Early Kick Off

The action begins at the Vitality Stadium where AFC Bournemouth look to get over their last-gasp defeat to the leaders Arsenal last weekend when they play host to a Liverpool side who couldn’t have asked for a better result in their last outing if they had tried. They will need to avoid the comedown from that win over Manchester United in what could be an awkward encounter if they allow it to be given that the Cherries fell to the bottom of the table with that defeat last week and will be looking for a result which brings them off of it.

3pm Matches

Four fixtures take place in the traditional 3pm slot on Saturday afternoon with Tottenham Hotspur the highest ranked of them. They will look to put their Champions League exit behind them when they play host to a Nottingham Forest side who are slowly sliding dangerously towards the bottom three again. In terms of profile, the pick of the matches at this time of the day comes from the King Power Stadium where Leicester City will look to show they are a lot better than what they delivered last week when they play host to a Chelsea side who might be starting to turn things around under Graham Potter.

The other two matches at 3pm on Saturday will have a big impact on the bottom end of the table. Leeds United are under pressure for results to come away from the relegation zone and they play host to a rampant Brighton and Hove Albion side who are looking great at the minute. The other match comes from Goodison Park where Everton will look to drag themselves a little further out of relegation danger when they host a Brentford side who are in excellent form at present.

Late Game

The action concludes at Selhurst Park where the title race is back in the focus when Manchester City look to move to within a couple of points of the leaders Arsenal for 24 hours at the very least when they head to the capital to take on Crystal Palace. Palace have enough teams between them and the relegation zone going out on Saturday but they could do with a win or two soon just to ease any nerves and doubts over their league position. That should make for a competitive conclusion to the Saturday action.

Betting

I really fear for this Leeds United side right now. They just don’t convince me at either end of the pitch and the last thing they need is to run into a Brighton and Hove Albion side who are full of confidence and putting up the sort of attacking numbers that teams in the top four would normally deliver. Against a terrible Leeds defence, admittedly which is getting better under Javi Gracia, I just can’t see how the Seagulls don’t have a field day.

The big problem I have with Leeds is if you include the FA Cup defeat to Fulham they have scored one goal in five matches and that was a deflected goal against Southampton which should have been stopped. You would imagine they are going to need more than one goal to come out on top in this match and the evidence is that isn’t going to happen. This Leeds press might just set up perfectly for Brighton to play through and while I’m not massive fan of taking away sides at odds on in this league, I can’t resist a play on a Brighton win here.
