Premier League 2022-23 – Saturday 25th February Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend continues on Saturday when another six matches take place over the course of the day, which is one less than there should have been due to the involvement of Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final.

It is a slightly different Saturday to usual in terms of times and TV games and things. There is no early game and the two TV matches we have come in the evening which is not the norm. The other four matches will have updates at the usual places.

Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (3pm unless stated; UK TV in brackets)

Everton v Aston Villa

Leeds United v Southampton

Leicester City v Arsenal

West Ham United v Nottingham Forest

AFC Bournemouth v Manchester City (5.30pm – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Crystal Palace v Liverpool (7.45pm – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Preview

The two televised matches come along late in the day on Saturday. Manchester City slipped up last weekend when they had got themselves back to the top of the table and they will be the focus of the first of the TV games when they make the trip to the Vitality Stadium to take on an AFC Bournemouth side who will be hoping to cause a massive upset and give themselves a chance of coming out of the bottom three. When that is done Crystal Palace will host a Liverpool side who will have all eyes on them as they look to bounce back from that horror final hour against Real Madrid in midweek.

Prior to those two matches, leaders Arsenal get the chance to open up a five-point gap on Manchester City when they make the trip to a suddenly rejuvenated looking Leicester City team. There are two key matches at the bottom of the table with Leeds United beginning life under Javi Gracia when they host Southampton, who will hope to build on their win over Chelsea last weekend. West Ham United will look to come out of the bottom three when they host an inconsistent Nottingham Forest. Everton are another team looking to pull themselves out of trouble. They welcome Aston Villa to Goodison Park.

Betting

Not for the first time this month goals in a Leicester City game take my fancy. I do believe Leicester are looking back to their best going forward and had it not been for two world class David de Gea saves last week the Foxes could be going into their match with Arsenal off the back of three successive, emphatic wins. I think they can trouble the scorers in this match and play their part in what should be a very entertaining game.

There are a few signs that Arsenal’s defence is just beginning to find the going a little tough. They haven’t kept a clean sheet in five matches and one or two teams have started to look like they could score at will against them. One area Arsenal aren’t showing any signs of weakening is in attacking areas and against a Leicester defence who seem absolutely hell bent on killing themselves week after week, it would be a surprise if the Gunners don’t do some damage here. This could easily turn into a repeat of the game Arsenal were involved in at Aston Villa last week. There were six goals in that and whether we get quite that many here remains to be seen but I think we’ll get enough to cover a 2.75 goal line in full.
