Premier League 2024-25 – Tuesday 14th January Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The Premier League returns with a midweek slate of games after the break for the FA Cup at the weekend and it does so with four matches on Tuesday evening on what could be a big night particularly at the top of the table.

The good thing about this midweek round is all of the matches are live on TV for us to watch in the UK, although you will need many devices to watch them all on Tuesday as there is an overlap across all of the games.

Tuesday’s fixtures are as follows: (7.30pm unless stated; UK TV in brackets)

Brentford vs Manchester City (TNT Sports 2)

Chelsea vs AFC Bournemouth (TNT Sports 3)

Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool (TNT Sports 1)

West Ham United vs Fulham (TNT Sports 4)

Preview

The main attention will be on the City Ground on Tuesday evening where two teams in the top three meet as Nottingham Forest host Liverpool. A Forest win would move them to within three points of the leaders at the top of the table whereas a Liverpool win would see them go nine points clear for 24 hours at least. Chelsea are the next highest team on show on the evening. They will look to consolidate their top four position when they host an AFC Bournemouth team who will move level on points with them should they win at Stamford Bridge.

The champions Manchester City are also in action on Tuesday night. There are signs that they are starting to find their groove again after a really poor first half of the season and they’ll be looking to show that is the case when they head to the capital to take on a Brentford side whose home record is bettered only by the leaders Liverpool this term. The other match also comes from the capital as two London teams meet at the London Stadium when West Ham United compete in their first Premier League game under Graham Potter when Fulham are the visitors.

Betting

I’m going to work my way into the midweek round of action because I think the better bets come later in the week but there is one which I can’t ignore on Tuesday evening and that comes in the form of Fulham to beat West Ham. It is probably advisory to take the draw out of play given that Fulham have managed to draw a stalemate in nine of their 20 matches but if there is a winner here I fully expect it to be Fulham despite the potential new manager bounce for West Ham.

The problem West Ham have here is they are running out of attacking players with Niclas Fullkrug joining Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio on the treatment table and Crysensio Summerville is a huge doubt too and if you don’t offer as much of an attacking threat against this Fulham side they can get plenty of men forward to cause problems. I think West Ham will be a work in progress under Potter, especially while they are waiting for attacking players to return and that leads to thinking Fulham are good things without the draw here.

Tips

Back Fulham to beat West Ham United (DNB) for a 3/10 stake at 1.80 with William Hill
