Premier League 2025-26 – Tuesday 30th December Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The final night of Premier League action in 2025 takes place on Tuesday night as six matches are played out on an evening where things might just get a bit clearer at the top of the table as well as the bottom of it.

The good thing with this particular midweek slate of games is that all of them are available to watch on TV, although you will need plenty of devices to watch every kick because there is a lot of clashes over the course of the night.

Tuesday’s fixtures are as follows: (7.30pm unless stated; UK TV in brackets)

Burnley vs Newcastle United (Sky Sports Tennis)

Chelsea vs AFC Bournemouth (Sky Sports Main Event)

Nottingham Forest vs Everton (Sky Sports Cricket)

West Ham United vs Brighton and Hove Albion (Sky Sports Golf)

Arsenal vs Aston Villa (8.15pm – Sky Sports Premier League)

Manchester United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (8.15pm – Sky Sports Football)

Preview

There is no doubt about what the standout fixture in the evening is. That takes us to the Emirates Stadium where the leaders Arsenal play host to the third placed team Aston Villa with the Villans heading down the M6 looking to head into 2026 level on points with the Gunners. The other team in the top five in action on Tuesday night are Chelsea and they will look to improve on a run of just one win in their last five outings when they host an AFC Bournemouth side who don’t even have one victory in their last five matches but who have the potential to be very dangerous.

Elsewhere, Manchester United will look to continue their improvement and progression up the table when they welcome rock bottom and near enough already relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers to Old Trafford, while Burnley in second bottom will look to do their hopes of staying up no harm when they host a Newcastle United side who continue to suffer from travel sickness. West Ham United are the other team in the bottom three and they seek three valuable and much needed points when they host Brighton and Hove Albion at the London Stadium. Nottingham Forest are the team the bottom three are looking to reel in and they will hope to move clear of the chasers when they host an Everton side who are struggling in forward areas.

Betting

There are a couple of matches that I am looking at for bets on Tuesday night with the first to kick off coming at Stamford Bridge where I don’t think it is a surprise to anyone where goals are the order of the day. The general theme is Bournemouth matches away from the Vitality Stadium possess lots of goals and I expect that trend to continue here. Bournemouth have played nine matches away from home this season and seven of them have had both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals with one which didn’t being at Villa Park where Villa scored four but Bournemouth couldn’t score. Five of the last seven Chelsea matches at the Bridge will have seen this bet cash with the two that didn’t coming against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton, the two lowest scoring teams in the Premier League. I expect an open, end to end clash here with goals flowing at both ends as ever in a Bournemouth away game so BTTS and over 2.5 goals will do me.

The other bets come at the Emirates Stadium where Arsenal host Aston Villa in a match where while I understand and accept Arsenal to be the favourites, the Gunners look criminally short to me against a team who are flying. The Emirates has been a tough place for visiting teams to go this season in terms of results but some of the performances haven’t been altogether convincing. Three of the last five wins in the league here were by a goal, including needing an own goal from Wolves deep into injury time for them to win that one, another was by two goals when Brentford rested some key players for a midweek trip and the other was a wide margin win when Thomas Frank got his tactics all wrong. Villa are better than Brighton, Palace and Wolves who have all lost here by one goal and actually when you look at Arsenal’s record against the current top five in the table they are 0-2-2 with one of the defeats being at Villa earlier this month. If you want to extend that down to seventh they beat Man Utd 1-0 at Old Trafford on the opening day of the season in a game United had 22 shots in and won the xG battle 1.52-1.30 and they drew at Sunderland so their record then becomes a very lucky one win, three draws and two defeats. Whether you believe Villa are a top three side or not or are flattered to be where they are or variations of that narrative doing the rounds, they are a top seven team all day long and have avoided defeat on their last two visits to this part of the capital. They have won their last 11 in all competitions and may have the code to crack this Arsenal side again. They won the xG battle at Villa Park 2.17-1.93 and I’m not convinced enough has changed for Arsenal to be a 4/9 shot here. You can get with Villa on a +1.25 Asian line which looks huge based on those results I’ve highlighted as even a one goal Arsenal win gives us a half win on our bet. Villa have just won at Chelsea though so I can’t ignore a nibble on Villa at 13/2.
