Premier League – Saturday 4th February Matches Betting Preview

After the excitement of the midweek matches the Premier League is back for more this weekend. We have eight matches to enjoy on Saturday with the top four going into the day all in action on what looks like being another important day at the summit.

As ever on a busy Saturday we have three kick off times to cover the eight matches across with the pick of the games coming up first.

Early Kick Off

Leaders Chelsea host third placed Arsenal in the early kick off in what could be another pivotal match in the title race. Chelsea begin the day nine points ahead of Arsenal and a win would all but eliminated the Gunners from the title race. Arsenal really need to win but this is must not lose territory for them.

3pm Matches

Crystal Palace host Sunderland in a huge game at the bottom of the table while Bournemouth head to Everton. Liverpool will look to resurrect their title challenge when they go to Hull while Southampton and West Ham will be eyeing up the top half of the table when they go head to head at St Mary’s.

The other two matches see Watford taking on an ever improving Burnley side and Stoke making the relatively short trip to take on their former manager Tony Pulis and his West Brom side.

Late Game

The action finishes at the Lane as Tottenham will look to take advantage of any dropped points by those around them in the table earlier in the day when they go up against a Middlesbrough side for whom the need for points is becoming ever more desperate.

Betting

I’m going with two bets on Saturday and they begin right off the back with the leaders Chelsea. We’ve seen the frail side of Arsenal beginning to appear with defeats at Everton and Manchester City not to mention the Bournemouth debacle and even the defeat to Watford in midweek. There looks to be no chink in the armour of Chelsea and I expect them to continue their title charge here.

Chelsea have only dropped five points in their last 10 matches and only three points at home all season which came against Liverpool before Antonio Conte changed their formation. Arsenal have a poor record at the Bridge. They’ve lost their last four and not scored in their last three. I expect that poor trot to continue here.

Elsewhere I think a 1.25AH cap on Hull might be a little too big. Two months ago it would have been about right but Hull have improved since the manager change while Liverpool have either started feeling the pressure, peaked too soon or are unable to maintain the intensity they set out with. Either way a defeat at Bournemouth and a draw at Sunderland does little to inspire confidence in them.

Hull have given Man Utd a couple of good runs for their money in the last nine days and arrive into this match with a bit of momentum. I’m not convinced they do go down but if they do I fancy it will be with a fight and by a narrow margin.
