Premier League – Sunday 28th August Matches Betting Preview

The last day of Premier League matches before the international break sees two more games in the top flight on another Super Sunday of action. West Brom host Middlesbrough to open the proceedings while Man City face West Ham to round off the weekend.

West Brom vs Middlesbrough

Both these sides have taken the pressure off their shoulders with an early win in the season and both of them got that win on the road. West Brom won at Palace on the opening day of the campaign while Middlesbrough went to Sunderland to win last week.

When I look at this match I just see a tight game and it might come down to a piece of brilliance like the one that Christian Stuani produced at the Stadium of Light last week. I wouldn’t be surprised if this match ends up as a draw but either way it looks tight and I don’t really see an edge anywhere.

Man City vs West Ham

If Man City win this one by more than a goal they will go top of the table while West Ham will move into the top six with a win of their own, a win they know they are capable of having won at the Etihad last season.

All eyes were on City to see how they would adjust to Pep Guardiola’s style and while all the attention has surrounded the Joe Hart saga it is already apparent that they look a very good attacking side who will take some stopping this season.

West Ham are a decent attacking side as well but with nothing like the quality or indeed the consistency needed to prevail at the minute and they head to Manchester absolutely riddled with injuries and off the back of the disappointment of bombing out of Europe on Thursday night in a tie they wanted to win.

Maybe if West Ham were at full strength this would be a competitive match but they’re not and City look to be firing nicely already and I don’t think a -1.75 line on the Asian caps will be enough. In eras gone by City have been ruthless at home and that is something that isn’t going to change under Guardiola. I’m expecting a big home win here.
