There is a rare midweek round of matches in the Premier League this week. All 20 sides are in action over two nights on Tuesday and Wednesday. The fixture list begins with a pair of games on Tuesday which has a TV game and a match away from the cameras. We’ll begin as always with the TV game.
Everton vs Arsenal
Everton who are unbeaten at home host an Arsenal side who are unbeaten away in the TV game on Tuesday night. Something clearly has to give! Toffees fans will hope it isn’t their side because they desperately need to arrest a run of one win in 10 matches. Arsenal are flying at the minute and a win will take them back to the top of the table for 24hrs.
Arsenal have a pretty decent record at Goodison Park in recent times which is a bit of a surprise given how tough the place is to go usually. Arsenal have only lost once here since 2007 so they’ll be heading into the game full of confidence.
Everton have got some problems. Their manager keeps making weird noises about Romelu Lukaku, they have a keeper who is in the middle of a spell of brain fades and all of a sudden there is a lack of creativity about them. Arsenal are much more settled and at a price approaching evens they are just about big enough to take.
Bournemouth vs Leicester
These two sides go into this match off the back of very different results at the weekend. Bournemouth were beaten at Burnley while Leicester took care of Man City in emphatic enough style.
The big question here is was Leicester’s win and performance the start of the turnaround or just a bright spot in a season of struggle. We will probably only know the answer after the game which makes betting tricky here.
It isn’t even as though we can rely on Bournemouth either because they are on a win-loss-win-loss streak at the minute although their last win was a pretty amazing turnaround to paper over a few cracks. Whichever way I look at this one it just has too many questions to be answered so I’m happy to sit this one out.
