Ram Slam T20 Challenge – Friday 4th December Betting Preview

All six sides are in action in the penultimate round of matches in the group stage of the Ram Slam T20 Challenge on Friday night and for the four sides chasing the two semi-final spots it could well be a pivotal night.

The Dolphins and the Cape Cobras play their final match of the round robin on Friday and as luck would have it they play each other in the televised game. The winner of that one will be assured of a place in the semi-final. The loser will have to wait and see.

The Warriors are still in the semi-final hunt after their win over the Cobras on Wednesday. They take on the Knights in a must win match while the Lions, the other side in contention for that final playoff spot, have to beat the leaders Titans to keep their hopes alive.

Both the Dolphins and the Cape Cobras go into their match off the back of defeats last time out and the next defeat for either could be their last. The Dolphins are now winless in their last five matches and haven’t made a score of 150 in any of those games so they don’t need too much soul searching to see where they need to improve.

The Cobras lost last time out at the Warriors in a match where the toss proved to be a pivotal thing with the wicket really slowing up in the second innings but they launched this poor run of Dolphins form and will be confident of completing the double over the Durban side.

In two of their last three matches the Dolphins have been restricted to 70 and 82/9 so their batting has just collapsed so the 4/5 on the Cobras looks a fantastic bet here especially with Richard Levi back in their squad.

The Warriors have to beat the Knights and will be buoyed by their win over the Cape Cobras on Wednesday but since they were effectively eliminated the Knights have begun winning matches and are actually on a decent little run themselves at the minute.

Even though the Knights are going well I can’t say I’m in any rush to back them at odds on and with the pressure all on the Warriors they don’t really offer much of a temptation either so I’ll leave that match alone.

The Titans are big favourites in the other match and that is how I see it too. I’m just not convinced the Lions will put up enough runs to be competitive but the Titans know they are in the final now and might get complacent so there is little interest in taking them at odds on. I’ll stick with the Cobras as my sole bet on the day.
