Royal London One Day Cup 2022 – Sunday 14th August Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The Royal London One Day Cup returns from a day off on Sunday and it does so with a full round of matches as we head into the second half of the first stage of the competition. With matches beginning to run out each one carries extra significance for those looking to progress through.

Once again it is The Hundred which is getting the TV treatment on Sunday so if you want to watch any of these matches then you need to go to the live streams which are offered up by the team who are at home.

Group A

Three sides lead the way on six points in Group A heading into Sunday and two of those teams are in action. Middlesex are currently top courtesy of net run rate and they make the trip to Taunton to take on a Somerset side who are without a win in this competition and who are already done from a competitive point of view. The other team on six points in action on Sunday are Leicestershire and they welcome fourth placed Warwickshire to Grace Road. Nottinghamshire have now lost two on the spin and they’ll be out to get back to winning ways when Durham are the visitors to Grantham while Sussex and Surrey meet at Hove.

Group B

The top two meet in what could be a pivotal match in Group B when Hampshire play host to Lancashire in what is a repeat of the Vitality Blast final from last month. Hampshire won that and could go clear at the top with a win here. The defending champions Glamorgan have lost their last two matches so they will be looking to get back on track when they head to Chelmsford to take on an Essex side who kept their hopes of qualifying alive on Thursday. Northamptonshire also kept alive in the competition last time out and they travel to Canterbury to take on Kent who know they have run their race in this campaign. Derbyshire travel to Worcestershire in a match where neither team have much chance of qualifying.

Betting

Given the heat that is soaring through the UK on Sunday I don’t really want to take the chance of betting on the outcomes of these matches because bowlers are really going to be up against it in temperatures which could get back up to 35 degrees in the middle and east of the country. One bet I do like though comes in the Nottinghamshire vs Durham match at Grantham where I am expecting the runs to continue to flow.

One trend of the summer is that the cricket played at the outgrounds have been full of runs. That was the case here on Friday when Durham and Middlesex piled up more than 650 runs with both teams scoring more than 325 and I’m expecting something similar here. Nottinghamshire are without pretty much their first choice attack who are all with teams in The Hundred while Durham’s attack has been decimated too. Both teams have plenty of batting though and on a hot day where there will be little in it for the bowlers I expect this match to sail beyond 547.5 runs.

Tips

Back Nottinghamshire vs Durham – Over 547.5 runs for a 3/10 stake at 1.83 with Bet365
