Royal London One Day Cup 2022 – Sunday 21st August Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The penultimate match day of the group stage of the Royal London One Day Cup takes place on Sunday when four matches will be played ahead of the conclusion of the first phase of the tournament on Tuesday.

Even though the Test match has finished, The Hundred is still around which means if you want to watch any of these matches without going to the game you will need to fire up the live stream offered by the home side.

Group A

The leaders Sussex are not in action on Sunday so Middlesex have the chance to qualify for the next round and put themselves in control of their own destiny with regards to a direct route into the semi-final. In order for that to happen they have to beat Gloucestershire when they meet at Radlett. After their defeat on Friday, Warwickshire have to win their last two matches to have any chance of qualifying. The first of those comes along at Edgbaston on Sunday when they play host to a Durham side who have been out of qualifying contention for a while.

Group B

Top spot is on the line in Group B as well as Hampshire, who are already guaranteed to be at home in a quarter final, go in search of top spot which will see them control their path to dodging the last eight altogether and play host to a team in the semi-final. Essex are the visitors to the Ageas Bowl and they will most likely be out of the competition if they lose. The other match comes from Chesterfield where Derbyshire take on Yorkshire in a match which will see the visitors head into a qualifying position if they win and they’ll then control their future on the final day.

Betting

I took the runs at Radlett on Friday and it came out on top and I see no reason why Middlesex and Gloucestershire won’t combine for another bunch of runs there on Sunday. Gloucestershire have to win this match to have any chance of making it through to the quarter final while a Middlesex win will secure their spot in the last six and give them every chance of hosting a semi-final without having to play in the quarter finals.

These two sides bat very deep and with good quality and that isn’t going to change here. Gloucestershire haven’t been too bad with the ball this term but this Middlesex top six look in fantastic form at the minute. Gloucestershire aren’t short of runs in their own top six though so the runs should continue to flow on a ground which is set up to be high scoring. The wickets here play well and the outfield is firm and fast so I expect over 573.5 runs in this one.
