Sky Bet Championship 2021-22 – Saturday 11th December Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

Another weekend in the Sky Bet Championship begins on Saturday afternoon when the majority of the division play their penultimate match prior to Christmas as we continue to head towards the halfway mark of the campaign.

As is usually the case on a Saturday we have a TV match to enjoy early in the day and then the other matches all have the same regular ways of being kept up to date on. You get the feeling this could be a big day of action.

Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (3pm unless stated; UK TV in brackets)

Huddersfield Town v Coventry City (12.30 – Sky Football)

Birmingham City v Cardiff City

AFC Bournemouth v Blackburn Rovers

Derby County v Blackpool

Big Matches

Two sides in the top half of the table get the action underway on Saturday afternoon when the TV cameras head to the John Smiths Stadium when Huddersfield Town host Coventry City. The leaders Fulham are in action on Saturday afternoon when they make the short trip to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town while AFC Bournemouth will be looking to keep pace with them at the top of the table. They welcome fourth placed Blackburn Rovers to the Vitality Stadium while third placed West Brom host Reading.

Best of the Rest

Steve Cooper returns to the Liberty Stadium for the first time since leaving when he takes his current club Nottingham Forest to face his former team Swansea City. Stoke City are the other members of the top six who are in action on Saturday. They play host to Middlesbrough in a match which doesn’t feel like it will be the prettiest to watch! At the other end of the table second from bottom Barnsley head across the Pennines to Preston North End while Peterborough United host Millwall. Cardiff City make the trip over to St Andrews to take on Birmingham City.

Betting

I’ll go with one bet over the course of Saturday afternoon and it comes in the match that I will be at as Luton Town host Fulham in a match I expect there to be goals in. We know all about the attacking threat that Fulham possess and while Luton have improved defensively as the season has gone on, they still fall asleep at times and against this Fulham attacking outfit if they do that here they will be heavily punished. They know that so they’ll be under pressure.

Luton have a goal threat going the other way though and they certainly don’t lay down against the bigger sides. Already this season they have been to West Brom and scored twice and been to Bournemouth and found the back of the net and we saw last week that Fulham can also drift off at the back so the potential for goals is certainly there. When these two met two seasons again there was a 3-2 and a 3-3 between them so I see this one containing three goals too.

Tips

Back Luton vs Fulham – Over 2.5 goals for a 3/10 stake at 1.80 with William Hill
