Big Matches

The TV game on Saturday afternoon sees the race for the play-offs remain in the spotlight when Nottingham Forest look to enhance their chances. They make the trip to Blackpool which is a pretty awkward place to go looking for the three points that will put the pressure on those above them in the table in the later games. Right at the very top Fulham can move to within three wins of an immediate return to the Premier League if they can win away at local rivals QPR, who need the points for their own promotion hopes. AFC Bournemouth are in control of their own destiny in second place and they host Bristol City looking for three more points in their quest.

Best of the Rest

The eyes of Welsh football will be on the capital on Saturday afternoon as Cardiff City host their bitter rivals Swansea City in the other derby match on the day. There is a huge clash at the bottom of the table when Barnsley look to move to within two points of Reading when they host the Royals at Oakwell. A Reading win would see them move eight points clear of the Tykes with matches running out. Back at the top two sides looking to secure top six finishes meet at Kenilworth Road when Luton Town host Millwall while Sheffield United, Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough all have away matches at Stoke City, Coventry City and Peterborough United respectively.

Betting

Blackburn Rovers have really faded away in the last couple of months. They went into February, which is famed for being a terrible month for them, in position to get automatic promotion and now they are clinging onto a play-off place by the skin of their teeth. One of the reason for that is goals have completely dried up. They have scored just six times in their last 15 matches and three of those came in a win over Derby so they are really struggling in front of goals.

Blackburn had a lot of injuries heading into the international break and it doesn’t sound like too many of those missing players are back here. Coventry City were just finding the going a little tough heading into the international break having won just one of their last six but it was against a good Sheffield United side and in the main the Sky Blues have been good at home this season even if they have lost a few recently. The lack of goals in this Blackburn side concerns me so I think Coventry are a good bet with some draw cover here.
