Preview

The leaders AFC Bournemouth have the chance to open up a six point gap on the chasing pack on Tuesday evening. In order for that to happen the Cherries need to pick up a win on their travels when they head to the Bet365 Stadium to take on Stoke City in the televised match. Right at the other end of the table, Derby County will look to give their survival chances a boost when they play host to a Luton Town team who have really hit some good form either side of the international break.

Two sides who sit just outside of the playoffs meet in another of the matches on Tuesday evening when eighth placed QPR take on the ninth placed Blackburn Rovers. Sheffield United and Millwall will both be looking for a win that will get them into the top half of the table when they meet at Bramall Lane while the other match sees Bristol City looking to pick up a first home win over 2021 when they host Nottingham Forest at Ashton Gate.

Betting

I’ll go with just the one bet to begin this round of matches on Tuesday evening and that comes at Ashton Gate where I expect this ridiculous winless run in front of their own fans of Bristol City to continue. I don’t particularly think the Robins are a great side anyway but they don’t have the deepest squad and they’ve just been given the run around by Bournemouth so might be a little leggie when they welcome Nottingham Forest to this part of Gloucestershire.

Forest were never going to be in the doldrums for too long and the change of leader seems to have worked wonders for them. Steve Cooper is a good operator at this level and knows what he is doing and seems to have revived Forest. They do have a fairly big squad so if there are any tired legs after the win against Blackpool he has the luxury of making changes. Forest have scored nine goals in their last four matches and are looking more vibrant in attack again after being a bit sterile under Hughton. There is clearly a pressure level attached with Bristol City playing at home now having not won for so long and I expect Nottingham Forest to take advantage of that here.
