Preview

West Bromwich Albion saw AFC Bournemouth scoot clear at the top of the Championship table on Tuesday evening and they will be out to close the gap back down to three points when they make the trip to the Liberty Stadium to take on Swansea City, who will be buoyed by their win over Cardiff City at the weekend. Things get no easier for Cardiff as they will look to bounce back from that loss. They head to Craven Cottage to take on a Fulham side who could end the night in the top two if West Brom slip up in Wales.

Coventry City can also end up in second place at the end of the evening should West Brom and Fulham both fail to win. That could only happen if they win away to Preston North End however. There is a huge match at the bottom of the table when two of the bottom four meet as Hull City host Peterborough United while the other team in the relegation zone, Barnsley, make the trip to Middlesbrough. The other two matches see Huddersfield Town hosting Birmingham City and Reading welcoming Blackpool to the Madejski Stadium.

Betting

Reading were good to us at the weekend and I’m happy to get involved in them again here. It is very hard to play two away games in this league at the same intensity when they come within the space of four days, particularly for Blackpool who had to go to Nottingham Forest on Saturday and then Reading on Wednesday. It hampers preparation without the actual action and you often see teams looking flat in the second game, especially newly promoted sides who don’t have the biggest squad to make changes. Add in that Blackpool have a number of injuries and they look vulnerable here.

We all know the problems Reading have off the field but on it they are beginning to flourish. They have won six of their last seven matches and the defeat at Derby in the middle of that run isn’t as bad as it looks so they are playing some good stuff at the minute and in John Swift they hold claims as having the best player in the division. Reading have only lost once at the Madejski this season while Blackpool have only won one on their travels. I’d expect a home win here.
