Preview

The televised match is the last one to kick off as two London sides go at it when Millwall entertain a Watford side who are looking to build on their win over Norwich City on Saturday evening. Both teams begin the night in the bottom half of the table so will be eager to win to launch some confidence ahead of more matches at the weekend. Burnley started the round of matches on top of the table but saw their rivals Blackburn Rovers overtake them on Tuesday evening. They can return to the top of the pile if they can win away at Birmingham City.

Sheffield United are the other team who can move to the top of the table should Burnley fail to win. They have an away trip to rock bottom Coventry City. QPR were top of the pie briefly on Saturday but fell away when they lost to Luton Town. They will look to get back to winning ways when they host Cardiff City. Two other matches take place on the evening. Blackpool host Hull City and Wigan Athletic take on Middlesbrough.

Betting

I think there is a strong chance of goals at Bloomfield Road on Wednesday evening when Blackpool take on Hull City. Blackpool were good enough in attacking areas to put three goals in at Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon and they’ve also put three in against Burnley and Watford this term too so they don’t lack for attacking intent or quality but they face something of a defensive issue here having had two defenders sent off in that draw at Bramall Lane at the weekend.

To be fair, one reason why we have a 2.25 goal line for this one is because Hull City have only scored in one of their last seven matches and only scored three goals in their last eight games but with absentees beginning to mount up in the Blackpool back line the Tigers will never get a better chance to bring some attacking output out. Hull do still have quality in attacking areas even if they aren’t getting the best out of them but the missing players for Blackpool make me think this is a good chance for the over to land.
