The Sky Bet Championship continues to move towards the international break with the majority of the latest round of games taking place on a Saturday which could be a very big day for a number of teams who still have plenty to play for.

It is a typical Saturday in the Championship although we only have two matches live on the TV before the majority of the games take place in the traditional 3pm slot. Those games will have updates in all of the usual places.

Big Matches

The main TV cameras on Saturday head to The New Den for a match which is considerably bigger for the visitors than it is the hosts when Stoke City make the trip to the capital to take on a Millwall side who might already be on the beach. Stoke boosted their survival chances with a win in midweek and will be eyeing up another victory here. While that game is going on there will also be cameras across the city as QPR host a Leeds United side who could move five points of Sheffield United for 24 hours at least. With QPR seemingly on the beach they will fancy their chances of that.

Best of the Rest

It could be a big day for Burnley too as they can move into the automatic promotion places for 24 hours if they can go to Swansea City and win. There is a huge match at the bottom of the table where rock bottom Plymouth Argyle host third from bottom Derby County with the losers of that going into the international break staring trouble in the face. Luton Town are the other team in the relegation zone at the start of play and they welcome Middlesbrough to Kenilworth Road. The team they are all chasing is Cardiff City and they go to Blackburn Rovers looking for the result which will ensure they spend the international break outside the bottom three. West Bromwich Albion and Coventry City occupy the last two play-off spots and they host Hull City and Sunderland respectively.

Betting

I like a couple of bets over the course of the day on Saturday and they both come in the later set of games. The first of them is for both teams to score in the match between Coventry City and Sunderland. Coventry had a setback at Derby in midweek but back on home soil having dropped out of the top six after the Friday night result I would expect a reaction. Sunderland have probably left themselves with too much to do in terms of getting into the top two but they will want to finish the season well in order to hit the play-offs in form. Seven of the last nine Sunderland matches have had both teams scoring while the midweek game ended a run of four straight BTTS yes landing in Coventry matches. There is no shortage of attacking talent on show here, the reverse meeting ended 2-2 and I’m expecting both teams to score here too.

The other team I think are a big price are Burnley when they go to Swansea City. There is a perception that Burnley are low scoring and as a result of that they can be overpriced because the draw is a runner and away from home that is probably more the case but they have scored 11 goals in their last four matches so they have found a groove and that probably isn’t a coincidence because Marcus Edwards has brought a new dimension to the side. Swansea are an up and down side who are probably competitive against the bottom half teams on their own patch but struggle against the better ones. Leeds, Sheffield United, Sunderland and Coventry have all won here and you’ve got to think that knowing the importance of this match Burnley will find a way to win too. Burnley have only lost twice all season so the chances are we are only risking half of our stake on the -0.25 Asian line. At the price I’m reeled in.

Tips

Back Coventry City vs Sunderland – Both teams to score for a 3/10 stake at 1.80 with Coral

Back Burnley (-0.25AH) to beat Swansea City for a 3/10 stake at 1.91 with Bet365
