Big Matches

The main TV attention on Tuesday evening will be on the league leaders West Bromwich Albion to see if they can bounce back from their surprise loss at Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend when they host Middlesbrough at The Hawthorns. Second placed Sunderland are also in action on Tuesday night when they welcome Derby County to the Stadium of Light. Blackburn Rovers begin the evening in third spot in the table and they will look to preserve their unbeaten start to the season when they make the trip to an underperforming Coventry City side.

Best of the Rest

Two teams who will have their eyes on promotion at the end of the season meet at Carrow Road when Norwich City welcome Leeds United to Norfolk. Cardiff City go in search of a first win of the campaign when they play host to Millwall while Luton Town will look to bounce back from their defeat at Plymouth Argyle when they welcome Oxford United to Kenilworth Road. Wayne Rooney will take his Plymouth side to Turf Moor to take on a Burnley side who have a very good home record in this division. The other match sees QPR taking on Hull City at Loftus Road.

Betting

There is one bet that I like over the course of the night in the Sky Bet Championship. That comes at the CBS Arena where Coventry City welcome Blackburn Rovers in a match that I think will contain a few goals. Coventry home matches are generally open with them happy to play the attack minded football that gets them on the front foot and there are plenty of goals in this Coventry side even though they might not be coming along quite as frequently as they would want.

The big problem for the Sky Blues is keeping them out at the other end. They are yet to keep a single clean sheet this season and now face a Blackburn Rovers side who are averaging two goals per game. Blackburn have tightened right up at the back having not conceded a goal in their last three matches but their opponents in those matches – QPR, Preston and Bristol City aren’t overly fantastic sides. I expect both teams to score in this one and with Coventry really needing a win and potentially taking an extra risk to get it at home I think we’ll get a third goal in the game whichever end it comes in.
