We are at that stage of the season where the weather and FA Cup commitments are impacting the Sky Bet Championship schedule so we have a couple of rearranged games taking place in the division on Tuesday evening.
The top end of the table will be under the spotlight more than the other end here and the good thing is that despite these games being rearranged, they are both available to watch on TV in the UK if you have a bet and want to follow it.
Burnley vs Oxford United (19.45 – Sky Sports+)
The bigger of the two matches in terms of the league table comes from Turf Moor where Burnley will look to move into the top two in the table when they welcome an in form Oxford United to Lancashire for what should be a decent match.
That is if the new signings that Burnley have made can make an impression on their attacking play because for all they are going well defensively, their goal output is quite poor for a promotion chasing side and it wouldn’t be a complete surprise were that to cost them a return to the Premier League at some point. Oxford have caught fire under Rowett. They are unbeaten since he has arrived and they have pulled right away from relegation danger, to the extent that they can approach matches like this against the top four as a free hit. It probably shouldn’t come as a surprise that the reverse meeting between these two ended 0-0 when you consider that such a scoreline has landed in 10 of the 30 Championship matches that Burnley have played this term. Oxford aren’t conceding many and only once in their last seven have they scored more than one goal so it makes sense to expect a low scoring match here. The goal line for this one is 2.25 and I wouldn’t be at all surprised were the under to land but if you want a full payout on that line you can only afford one goal so at the prices it might be worth taking no goalscorer which is a frequent return in Burnley games as mentioned but has also landed twice in Oxford games. Oxford draw a third of their matches this term so if this is a draw the 0-0 is a real runner so no goalscorer makes sense at 15/2.

QPR vs Blackburn Rovers (19.45 – Sky Sports+)
The other match has implications in the race for the play-offs as two teams chasing for one of what looks like two remaining positions in the top six meet at Loftus Road where QPR play host to Blackburn Rovers.
Rovers go into the match in fifth position and will be looking to consolidate their spot here. Not all of the chasing pack play at the weekend but those that do would have the chance to capitalise if Blackburn leave the door open for them. QPR will be one of those teams hoping to close the gap between themselves and the top six and on home soil they will be looking to pick up what could be three valuable points. Rangers have generally been good at home in recent times. Their loss to Sheffield Wednesday in their last game here ended a run of five home wins on the spin and when you consider that Blackburn are without a win in four on their travels in the league, have only won four of 14 away from home in total and only scored 12 goals in those matches, this feels like a good chance for QPR to get another win. I’m not expecting a classic here by any means with scoring goals an issue for both sides but it might well be that Ilias Chair is the biggest creative spark on the pitch and that can prove the difference so if there is a winner here I fancy it to be the home side.
