The leaders going into the round of matches, Sheffield United, are on show on Wednesday evening when they head to the capital to take on a Millwall side for whom the next few days are going to feel very weird with the news that Neil Harris is going to step down after the match with Middlesbrough at the weekend. The main TV cameras will head to The Hawthorns to see the midlands clash between West Bromwich Albion and Coventry City, who have started life under Frank Lampard well.
The other three matches are likely to impact things more at the bottom end of the table rather than the top end of it. Bottom of the pile Hull City begin life under Ruben Selles when they entertain an inconsistent Watford side while Cardiff City and Preston North End will look to move away from immediate danger. The other match sees QPR looking for successive wins when they host an Oxford United side who are just starting to struggle a touch.
Betting
Oxford United haven’t won away from home this season and have only won one of their last 13 matches anywhere so other than freshness having had their match at the weekend called off I’m not sure what they have going for them in their trip to Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday evening. Oxford haven’t just failed to win away from home this term but they are averaging two goals against and those are not statistics that I like the look of.
QPR have had their struggles this term but they have largely been down to injuries and although not everyone is back, Rangers are undefeated in their last four matches and haven’t conceded a goal in their last three so things are starting to click into gear for them. Despite all their struggles this season, QPR have only lost four of 10 home matches this term so they have been tough to beat at Loftus Road and there is little in the form of Oxford to suggest that they are going to get the job done.
Tips
Back QPR to beat Oxford for a 3/10 stake at 2.00 with William Hill
