The Sky Bet League 1 weekend concludes on Saturday afternoon when all but the two sides who competed on Thursday night are in action as we head towards the end of the opening third of the campaign up and down the country.
This is a typical Saturday in the third tier in that there are a couple of TV matches taking place prior to the remainder of the games. Those later contests will have the usual updates in all of the normal places for us to stay afloat of the action.

Big Matches
The TV cameras will make their way to Sixfields Stadium and Adams Park on Saturday lunchtime. The first of those clashes two sides going in opposite directions meeting each other when Northampton Town, in the bottom half of the table, host a Mansfield Town side who are enjoying life in the top 10 of the table. The other match sees two teams who will want to finish might higher up the table than they currently reside battling it out when Wycombe Wanderers host Leyton Orient. The other big match on the day sees the league leaders Stockport County hosting the pre-season favourites for the title in Luton Town.
Best of the Rest
Bradford City will have an eye on events at Edgeley Park as if Stockport slip up then the Bantams can finish the day on top of the table. They welcome Burton Albion to Valley Parade with both teams proving hard to beat at present. Cardiff City, Lincoln City and AFC Wimbledon are the other sides in the top six on show on Saturday and all go on their travels. They take on Blackpool, Rotherham United and Peterborough United respectively. Plymouth Argyle remain in the bottom three and they will look to come out of trouble when they head to Huddersfield Town in another appealing clash while Port Vale, the other team in the bottom four, have a tricky looking test away to Bolton Wanderers to negotiate.
Betting
Bolton Wanderers look to be clicking into a groove after a bit of an up and down start to the season. They looked very good away to Huddersfield Town on the TV a few weeks ago and have beaten a good Cardiff City side since then and they look to be solid favourites to get the better of a Port Vale side who were woefully short of quality against Stockport County a couple of weeks ago and who could well be outclassed once again here.
While Bolton were warming into the season, they have managed to remain unbeaten at home this term with five wins and two draws in their opening seven games here and I expect another win to be added to the column. Bolton have the leading scorer in League One in their ranks in Mason Burstow and one of the leading assisters in Amario Cozier-Duberry. Port Vale have only scored once goal in their last four league matches and you wouldn’t think that is enough against this vibrant Bolton side. I’ll take the home win here.
Tips
Back Bolton Wanderers to beat Port Vale for a 3/10 stake at 1.73 with William Hill
