There is one promotion spot remaining from Sky Bet League 2 this season and four sides have a chance of winning it as the play-offs get underway on Sunday evening. Luton, Exeter, Carlisle and Blackpool have one last shot at glory and all four sides will be out to put themselves in a good position in the semi-final first legs.
Both matches are live on the box on Sunday so we’ll be able to keep tabs on both of them both for betting purposes in this leg and the second one to follow on Thursday.

Blackpool vs Luton
Two of the bigger sides in the division will do battle over two legs for a spot at Wembley with Blackpool hosting the first leg on Sunday evening. Luton head into the match having finished three places above their opponents and having done the double over Blackpool in the league. Blackpool will know none of that matters now.
We’ve got an interesting match here. Blackpool don’t lose many at home while Luton don’t lose many on the road so that suggests we could have a tight first leg. That might be true but at the same time with both attacks pretty potent and both defences very much the weak link of the two sides even allowing for Luton’s defensive record there is a chance this could be a high scoring game too.
If I was forced I would probably side with the tight and tense route. As a Luton fan I’m nervous as anything about this match which suggests there might be a fair amount of tension around. That might make under 2.5 the right bet but I’ve more than enough emotional interest in this without compounding it with a betting one too.
Carlisle vs Exeter
Sixth placed Carlisle meet fifth placed Exeter for the second weekend in succession on Sunday evening. Last weekend they battled in the final league match at St James’ Park and now they will face off at Brunton Park. Carlisle won both league meetings 3-2 including last week’s one but again that counts for little now.
Carlisle deserve some credit for that win last week but I’m not sure we should use it as a form guide between the two teams. Although Exeter didn’t rest players it would only be natural for them to have subconsciously gone a little easy in the match given that they were confirmed play-off semi-finalists.
All season long Carlisle have struggled under pressure and there will be plenty of that on them here in front of their own fans. Given where they were in November and where they are as a club overall it might be that Exeter are the ones freerolling in this play-off campaign. The one thing about them is they are very efficient on the road and I fancy they can use any anxiety around Brunton Park to their advantage and bring home a result of some kind in what will naturally be a tight and tense occasion.
