It is a huge night for the four teams in the Sky Bet League 2 play-offs on Thursday night when the second legs of the semi-finals are played out. The first legs were wonderful spectacles for the neutral and both semis are set up nicely ahead of their conclusions.
As with Sunday’s first legs we have one match on the main channel on Sky on Thursday and one behind the red button. Luton vs Blackpool is the main game with Exeter vs Carlisle being on the red button. We’ll preview both matches but we’ll start with the main game.

Luton vs Blackpool
As much as it pains me to say it Blackpool take a 3-2 lead into this second leg courtesy of Mark Cullen’s hat trick at Bloomfield Road on Sunday but Luton have home advantage and having already beaten the Tangerines at Kenilworth Road once this season they will be confident of doing it again.
The first leg of this tie was unbelievably open and if you listen to both managers then this second leg will be the same but I’m not convinced of that. We saw Blackpool timewasting and killing the game in the last 15 minutes of the first leg and I’m sure that will be their tactic in this second leg.
I’m not betting on this second leg. I said before the tie began that I thought the winners of the first leg would see it out. I hope I’ve got that completely wrong of course but I’m very wary that Blackpool might spoil this second leg completely if they are allowed to. I’ll be hoping like hell that Luton have a turnaround in them but I won’t be betting on this one.
Exeter vs Carlisle
Amazingly after the first leg this tie is locked at 3-3 heading into this second leg in Devon with all the marbles to be played for. One of these sides will come through and be heading to Wembley but we’re no closer to knowing whether it will be Exeter or Carlisle.
After a wide open first leg the general consensus is that the second leg will be a much tighter affair but I’m not sure I’m a subscriber to that. Their two regular season meetings ended 3-2 to Carlisle and then we had Sunday’s 3-3. I just think the styles of these two blend nicely and when they collide we see goals.
Second legs are generally a lot more entertaining and open with the prize that is at stake there for both sides to claim. I see no reason why this one won’t be like their other three meetings. I think we’ll get at least three goals with the potential for many more if one of those goes in early like on Sunday.
