Skybet League Two – Saturday 29th April Matches Betting Preview

It is the penultimate round of matches in Skybet League 2 on Saturday with the title, the playoff places and the final relegation spot all yet to be decided heading into the final fortnight of what has been an amazing season in the basement division.

Saturday’s fixtures are as follows:

Accrington Stanley v Luton Town

Barnet v Grimsby Town

Cambridge United v Crawley Town

Carlisle United v Newport County

Cheltenham Town v Hartlepool United

Doncaster Rovers v Exeter City

Leyton Orient v Colchester United

Mansfield Town v Portsmouth

Morecambe v Wycombe Wanderers

Notts County v Blackpool

Plymouth Argyle v Crewe Alexandra

Yeovil Town v Stevenage

Big Matches

With the race for the playoff spots so tight the match at the Keepmoat between Doncaster and Exeter is very big for the away side. Another big game in that race is the one between Mansfield Town, one place outside the playoffs and Portsmouth who can still win the title.

Elsewhere Plymouth host Crewe still looking for an opening to win the title themselves while Luton head to Accrington needing a point to be mathematically safe in the playoffs. Cheltenham host Hartlepool in a huge match at the bottom.

Best of the Rest

Stevenage are the ones being shot at in the playoff places. They head to Yeovil needing to win to stay in the top seven. Blackpool in sixth head to Notts County. Colchester could be in the best position. They travel to already relegated Leyton Orient.

Betting

I’m going with two picks in the league this week. Plymouth have had their issues at home this season but they sealed promotion in style with a 6-1 home win against Newport recently and they can pick up another win on their own patch against a Crewe side who will be lacking motivation. It will be party time at Home Park but with Plymouth still able to win the title there should be enough focus on the pitch to end their home campaign with a win.

Colchester have faced the top two in the last three weeks and drew with the pair of them and they will be aiming to make hay now when they head to the bottom side Leyton Orient. Orient’s problems don’t need no repeating but Colchester’s need is real. Not only do they need to win but bumping up the goal difference won’t be a bad idea. I expect a comfortable away win at Brisbane Road on Saturday even allowing for the fact that it is Orient’s final home match as a league club for a while.
