The lengthy ODI series between South Africa and India draws to a close on Friday when the two sides meet in the sixth match. India have already secured the series but with a T20 series to follow there is still a bit of bragging rights to play for going into them.
We return to the venue of the second ODI for this finale which will be a boost for India as they look to secure a 5-1 scoreline. South Africa will want to add a little respectability to the scoreline.

South Africa
It has been a series to forget for South Africa so far but they have one last opportunity to give themselves some confidence heading into the T20 series. They have had injuries and it would be wrong of us to ignore that but at the same time the players who have been given their chances off the back of that haven’t all impressed.
South Africa have really struggled throughout the series so far which is a big concern so they will hope that India rest a number of their bowlers and given them a little bit more of a chance. The Proteas have tried hard with the ball and have had their rewards at times but they have not been consistent enough.
India
The Indians have completely dominated this series and now the only thing left to see is whether they can put the icing on the cake. They have been exceptional with the ball throughout the five matches so far and while the spin twins have picked up the majority of the plaudits we should not ignore the role their seamers have played.
If there is a concern for the Indians heading into the final match it would come in the form of the lack of cricket their middle to lower order have seen with the bat but that is only because their top order have been so strong. I guess the biggest thing they will need to do is guard against complacency with the series won.
Team News
It is not yet known whether Chris Morris will be fit to feature for the home side in this match but with the amount of cricket he has played already it is unlikely that we will see Kagiso Radaba especially with Australia arriving soon.
Jasprit Bumrah hasn’t had much of a rest since arriving in India and that is set to be rectified here. Axar Patel could come into the side for a hit ahead of the T20s where he could be a key player.

Betting
I’m not going to go too mad in this series finale. Teams are going to change in terms of personnel and it is a dead rubber so it is hard to get too excited for the contest but there is one that I like in one of the side markets.
With some key bowlers on both sides likely to be rested I’m expecting to see a higher scoring match to end proceedings. We are back in the Highveld for this one so the ball should fly and with South Africa starting to get to grips with things with the bat and India batting very well on the tour then over 535.5 match runs looks the way to go to me.
