Specsavers County Championship – Sunday 19th June Matches Betting Preview

We might be halfway through the NatWest T20 Blast and the Royal London One Day Cup group stages but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for some four day cricket mixed in according to the powers that be so we have a round of matches in the County Championship this week with the first half of the beginning on Sunday.

There is one match in Division One on Sunday which is Surrey vs Nottinghamshire and then two in Division Two which sees Essex hosting Leicestershire at Chelmsford and Kent heading to Cardiff to face Glamorgan.

Surrey vs Nottinghamshire

The Division One is very congested going into the latest round of matches but two sides who are at the wrong end of the table meet at The Oval as bottom of the league Surrey host seventh placed Nottinghamshire.

Both sides struggled in the first phase of matches this season but both have gone fairly well in the one day matches since then so they will feel a little more confident heading into the latest set of matches which should make for a decent game.

Surrey are going to be without two key players here in Jason Roy and Sam Curran. Roy is away with England and Curran has school commitments. If we flip that over to Nottinghamshire they are without Alex Hales but they’ve not seem much of him anyway but Jake Ball is available and that could be a big boost.

In an ideal world Nottinghamshire would have had Stuart Broad available but even so they have a strong bowling attack and a batting line up back in big form and I expect them to turn Surrey over in this one.

Essex vs Leicestershire

The team I expected to win this league host the team I expected to improve on last season as Essex host Leicestershire and so far neither side have disappointed me. While you can never write Leicestershire off these days I think Essex are much the stronger side and all things being equal I don’t see them losing here.

Glamorgan vs Kent

Glamorgan go into this match on bottom of the table while Kent began the season really strongly but I’ve a feeling the one day stuff came at a good time for the Welsh side. Their bowlers continued their form and their batsmen caught fire in the last few weeks so I expect them to be much stronger here but I think Kent are pretty strong in this format too so this is another one to leave alone.
