Super League XXII – Easter Monday Matches Betting Preview

All 12 sides are in action in the Super League on Monday when the Easter period concludes with a bumper day of rugby league. After a frantic and fantastic first set of matches those who won will be looking to back up their result while the teams who lost will be looking for a win to take something from the holiday period.

Two of the six matches on Monday are on TV and four are away from the cameras so we have plenty to have a go at and get stuck into.

TV Matches

The first of the televised double on Monday comes from Belle Vue as Wakefield look to repeat the huge win they had against Wigan last season. It goes without saying Wigan will be after revenge. Once that is finished the attention will turn to France where the Catalans Dragons host a strong form horse in the Salford Red Devils.

Other Games

The leaders Castleford head to Langtree Park to take on St Helens while the Leeds Rhinos host Widnes at Headingley. Two sides who lost on Friday meet at the Leigh Sports Village when the Leigh Centurions host Hull FC with the other match seeing Warrington hosting Huddersfield Giants.

Betting

I want to take a couple of bets on Monday but in the end I’m going with just one. Salford really tempt me in France but Catalans have had an extra 48hrs to recover which is a massive bonus so I’m going to swerve them. Huddersfield tempted me with the 24hrs recovery time they have on Warrington but I still can’t bring myself to back them so I’m sticking with the one bet.

It comes on the Castleford Tigers. They don’t have the best of records at St Helens but they have a massive advantage in that the Saints played here enough 70 minutes with just 12 men on Friday in a real blood and thunder derby.

The last thing St Helens need after covering the DW Stadium and being given the run around a man down is this potent Castleford attack coming at them from all angles. Castleford played on Friday too but they had a much easier game of it and actually took it fairly easy in the second half. They have Michael Shenton back too and I don’t see Saints staying within a try of them here.
