Super League XXII – Sunday 20th August Matches Betting Preview

The last two matches in the Super League qualifiers for two weeks take place on Sunday afternoon as four more sides go in search of a win which could bring top flight status closer to them.

Warrington are blazing a trail at the top of the table and look to have one of the three automatic qualifying slots tied up but the other two are very much up for grabs still with Sunday likely to have a big impact on them.

Hull KR vs London Broncos

Hull KR have won their opening two matches in this qualifying campaign and look well set for a return to the Super League. A win here would almost guarantee that but they won’t have it all their own way against a London Broncos side who will battle like mad.

Hull KR will be desperate to avoid the Million Pound Match after what happened to them last year so I expect them to be all guns blazing here but London have gone toe to toe with both the sides they have played so far in this campaign and have points in them.

I would still be surprised if Hull KR don’t win this match but 14pts is plenty to give up in a match where really their sole aim will be just to win rather than run up a cricket score. I’ll ride the start the Broncos receive.

Widnes Vikings vs Featherstone Rovers

Super League side Widnes have a win and a defeat to their name so far so this is a massive match for them but it is big for Rovers too as they will put themselves back in with a golden chance of kicking on should they win.

I guess the big factor here is this will be one of the first times that Featherstone will have played on Widnes’ synthetic surface and that could certainly be an issue. I’ve got to think the Vikings have an advantage as a result of that but I’m in no rush to back them to cover a huge handicap. I’ll sit this out.
