The leaders St Helens saw their lead at the top shaved to four points by Wigan on Thursday night and they will be looking to regain their six point advantage at the summit when they host Wakefield Trinity in the TV match on Friday night. Elsewhere, Warrington will look to cement their top four position when they entertain Salford Red Devils who desperately need the two points if they are to avoid dropping into the qualifiers. Hull FC will look to close the gap on the Wolves when they host rock bottom Widnes Vikings while Hull KR will hope for two valuable points against Huddersfield Giants.

Betting

I’m tempted to back St Helens to run riot against the Wakefield Trinity but I’m conscious that four of their more important players have been to Denver and back in the last week and may well suffer a knock on effect from that so I’ll stick to one other bet which comes in the later kick off.

Hull KR are getting towards the time where they need to think about resting anyone with niggles to make sure they are ready for the qualifiers to come later in the season. It is unlikely that they are going to make the top eight now and while I don’t expect that to come yet it isn’t far away. As it is they have Danny Maguire back for this one but I don’t think he will save them from defeat. Huddersfield Giants have caught fire recently with five Super League wins on the spin and I’m backing them for a sixth here. They will move above Leeds and consolidate their top eight spot here with a win. It isn’t ideal that Danny Brough misses out here but they haven’t missed him yet. I think Huddersfield are good things here.

Tips
