Super League XXIII – Friday 8th June Matches Betting Preview

There are four matches in the Super League on Friday evening as the competition hurtles towards the end of the first stage and as ever at this time in the season points are important so we should be in for a competitive evening across the country.

After Wigan Warriors were beaten on Thursday night the remainder of the top five have the chance to enhance their positions including the leaders St Helens, who could go six points clear at the top should they win.

Friday’s fixtures are as follows: (19.45 unless stated)

Hull FC vs Salford Red Devils

Leeds Rhinos vs Huddersfield Giants

Warrington Wolves vs Castleford Tigers

St Helens vs Hull KR (20.00)

Preview

The leaders St Helens will bid to open up a significant gap at the top of the table when they host struggling Hull KR in the later kick off in the evening. In the TV match the Warrington Wolves can move level with the Wigan Warriors in second if they can see off the Castleford Tigers while elsewhere Hull FC will look to get over their Challenge Cup disappointment when they take on Salford Red Devils while Huddersfield Giants will look to put last week’s nightmare behind them when they face the Leeds Rhinos.

Betting

I’ll go with the one bet over the course of the evening which comes from the match at the KCOM Stadium where Hull FC host the Salford Red Devils. It is the visitors I like here especially with the 14 point start they are getting from the layers.

Hull FC have an ever growing injury crisis to contend with here while they also have to get over playing in intense heat with 11 men at times just five days ago in the Challenge Cup while Salford had their feet up for the weekend relaxing and preparing for this match. The likes of Sika Manu, Danny Houghton and Dean Hadley have joined Marc Sneyd, Josh Griffin and Fetuli Talanoa on the sidelines which is a serious amount of their strength. Salford are nothing special and it might be that they still don’t win this game but you’ve got to think they’ll be running the fresher the longer the game goes so I’ll back them to remain within 14 of their hosts.

Tips

Back Salford Red Devils (+14) to beat Hull FC for a 4/10 stake at 1.91 with Betfair
