Super League XXIV – Friday 1st March Matches Betting Preview

There are two more matches on Friday night as the Super League season begins to warm up, with four of Yorkshire’s finest battling it out for what could be two valuable league points in their various quests this term.

St Helens laid a marker down to the chasing pack on Thursday night so it will be interesting to see what develops on Friday. We have one of the two matches on the TV with the various ways of keeping up with the other. We’ll start with that live game.

Leeds Rhinos vs Wakefield Trinity

Two sides who will be looking for the points to build on an indifferent start to their campaigns meet in front of the cameras when the Leeds Rhinos play their first home match of the season as they take on Wakefield Trinity.

Leeds head into the match with just one win to their name from their four matches so far, but all of them have been on the road with Headingley being redeveloped, so they will no doubt be looking forward to being at home especially against a Wakefield Trinity side who have been hit and miss this season. Their only win came last week against Catalans but it is hard to know how much we can take from that given the French side never travel too well.

Leeds had a good win at Salford a couple of weeks ago and pushed St Helens to the limit last week which is decent form and if they continue that level they should have enough to come through here. The chances are they will continue to improve under their new coach so I’ll take them to cover half a dozen.

Castleford Tigers vs Hull KR

Two sides who have made bright starts to the season get it on at The Jungle where the Castleford Tigers play host to Hull KR in a match where both will be looking for two points to build on that strong opening to the campaign.

Castleford have three wins from three matches but two of those victories have come against Catalans Dragons and London Broncos so I’m not sure what we make of them just yet. Hull KR have a pair of wins and a pair of losses from their four matches and have generally looked alright when we’ve seen them on our screens. My gut feeling is KR will stay within their 14pt handicap but until I form a stronger opinion on Cas I’ll leave their matches alone.
