There were due to be four matches in the Super League on Friday night but with Covid-19 impacting on a couple of sides we are down to just the two games to keep those who are immune to football entertained!
One of the matches which fell to the virus was the televised match between Leeds and St Helens but Sky have moved quickly to be able to cover one of the games which is still taking place so we have that to enjoy. We’ll begin the preview with the TV game.
Hull KR vs Salford Red Devils (19.45 – Sky Sports Arena)
The TV cameras switch their attention to Craven Park on Friday evening where an improving Hull KR side host a Salford Red Devils outfit for whom this could be a long season unless something changes for them quite quickly.
Salford go into this match off the back of a week off but the prognosis of their injury crisis hasn’t improved any with Kevin Brown now confirmed to be going under the knife and Kallum Watkins out for three months. Throw in the Krisnan Inu suspension and Salford are missing three key members of their back line. This is a side who shipped 60 points on their last outing and you have to fear for them here with Hull KR starting to look like a competent side and who have Ryan Hall showing that he still belongs at the highest level. Hull FC aren’t always the most reliable side in the world but I do think they have it in them to not just win this match but win it with a fair bit in hand. I’ll take the home side to cover eight points.

Warrington Wolves vs Wakefield Trinity (19.45)
The match away from the cameras sees a Warrington Wolves side who really stunk the place out in the Challenge Cup semi-finals last weekend hosting a Wakefield Trinity team who just quietly are getting their act together and showing their ability.
Warrington have won four of their last five matches in the Super League but that display they put in last week should send shockwaves through their dressing room and not for the right reasons. They are under pressure to put in a performance here make no mistake about that. Wakefield Trinity might be heading to the Halliwell Jones at the right time. They have won their last three matches and are starting to show the form their performances deserve. I’m tempted to back Wakefield with the dozen start but I’m wary of a bounce back display from Warrington and when they are very good they really can be unplayable so I’m happy to sit this one out after thinking though it.
