The latest round of action in the Super League concludes on Monday evening with three of the four scheduled games surviving the Covid-19 issues on a night which sees the top two in action as we head towards the business end of the campaign.
These matches are coming thick and fast at the minute but despite that there is still one game live on TV for us to enjoy. There should be regular updates on the other two in the broadcast and there is all the social media and radio commentaries too.
Castleford Tigers vs Huddersfield Giants (19.45)
One of the three matches on Monday evening is the Yorkshire derby between the Challenge Cup finalists Castleford Tigers and a Huddersfield Giants who have underperformed throughout the campaign but might feel this is a chance to turn their form around.
The Tigers’ form is hard to gauge this term because injuries are constantly hampering them and while they have some players back they are still missing quite a few for this game. The Giants come into this match having walloped Hull FC a couple of weeks ago but that was a Hull side who hadn’t played for a month so just what they beat there remains to be seen. This is the first time Castleford have played since the Challenge Cup final because of Covid-19 issues so you would think they will be up against it here but I’m no backer of Huddersfield to cover double figures at this stage. I’ll sit this out.

Hull FC vs St Helens (19.45 – Sky Sports Arena)
The televised offering on Monday evening comes from the MKM Stadium where the champion St Helens will be on show for the first time since winning the Challenge Cup a couple of weeks ago. They face a Hull FC side who are looking to show they belong in the top six.
This immediately looks a tough assignment for Hull FC. I say that mostly because they had a tough match on Thursday night against the Leeds Rhinos while Saints had their feet up watching. The other reason why it will be tough is St Helens have won the last 10 meetings between these two teams which includes the Challenge Cup semi-final earlier in the year. In truth, in those meetings Hull FC have rarely got close and now they are without Jake Connor which certainly isn’t a help. Saints will be without Theo Fages for the remainder of the campaign but I think they have enough depth and options to cope with that. Injuries and fatigue are big issues for Hull FC here so a fresh Saints side should be able to cover 7.5pts.
Hull KR vs Catalans Dragons (19.45)
The other match on Monday evening sees Hull KR and Catalans Dragons colliding once again not long after their meeting in France nine days ago which the Dragons won by a couple of points in what was a compelling contest.
If this one is half as good then the Craven Park crowd will be treated to something special. Hull KR find themselves in the play-off positions heading into this match and if they can come out on top it would really strengthen their credentials of making the postseason. That will be tough though against a Catalans side who look the real deal this term. Catalans are on an insane winning run at the minute and even when they are not at their best, such as in that reverse fixture, they still get the job done. They have key players back in place here and look like a side who are going from strength to strength. Hull KR might not go down lightly but I expect the Dragons to win this.
