The Super League weekend concludes on Sunday afternoon as three matches take place on an afternoon where the top and the bottom end of the table are going to continue to take shape as we head towards the end of the campaign.
We have one of the three matches on television on Sunday afternoon and then if you are not actually going to either of the other two then there is radio commentaries and social media updates to rely on.
St Helens vs Castleford Tigers (13.00 – Channel 4)
The televised offering on Sunday afternoon comes from the Totally Wicked Stadium as the champions St Helens play host to a Castleford Tigers side who will be eager to keep up with the top four in the division and hope to host a play-off match.
Saints go into this match off the back of a bit of a thumping by the Salford Red Devils last week so Castleford might be getting them at a bad time. The Tigers suffered a heavy loss of their own last week to Wakefield Trinity so they will be aiming to bounce back here. Castleford are beginning to suffer a few too many injuries for my liking and that was a big factor in their defeat last week but I’m not really keen on asking St Helens to cover double figures against a team they have a poor record against recently.

Leeds Rhinos vs Salford Red Devils (15.00)
Two form sides meet in one of the bigger matches of the day on Sunday when the Leeds Rhinos play host to the Salford Red Devils in a contest which is going to have huge implications on the race for the top six.
Both these teams have won four of their last five matches and have had appealing wins last week. Leeds went to France and beat the Catalans Dragons which is a mighty fine result while Salford overwhelmed the champions St Helens which is an equally good one. This match is massive for both teams. Salford begin the afternoon in sixth place in the table but they are only a point ahead of Leeds so the winner of this one will finish the week in the play-off zone but Salford could open up a three point lead which could be significant. I’m not sure who will win this one but I do think we’ll get plenty of points in it. Leeds have posted 174 points in their last four wins while Salford have scored 206 in the last five matches they have won. On a gorgeous day for rugby I expect points to flow here.
Wakefield Trinity vs Catalans Dragons (15.00)
The other match has implications at both ends of the table as Wakefield Trinity will look to open up a four point gap on Toulouse Olympique at the bottom of the table when they host the Catalans Dragons who themselves need a win if they are going to keep their top two hopes alive.
Wakefield picked up a massive win for themselves in the race to stay up last week and have already seen Toulouse lose this week so they might feel they have a free hit to take a huge step towards safety here. Catalans are just starting to falter a little at the wrong time having lost three of their last four matches and the win in between those losses was by a solitary point against Huddersfield. I’m not sure I would trust Wakefield to win this match but I certainly don’t want to be relying on Catalans to cover a score when they haven’t won by more than six in their last six matches.
