The latest round of matches in the Super League XXX season continues on Friday evening when two more games take place in the competition on a night where three potential title challengers take centre stage.
As is the case all season, both of the matches will be live on the TV for us to enjoy with one on the TV channel and the other on the streaming service but they kick off at the same time so you’ll need a couple of devices to watch both in full.
Huddersfield Giants vs St Helens (20.00 – Sky Sports+)
The match which is on the streaming service on Friday night sees the Huddersfield Giants going up against a St Helens side who will be aiming to show that their demolition of Catalans Dragons last weekend wasn’t a flash in the pan.
The Giants were given a good going over by the leaders Hull KR so they will be out to show that they are much better than that. Losing to Hull KR is no disgrace. They look the standout side in the competition but just one win in 11 matches certainly isn’t what the Giants would have been looking for from their season. Even this early you sense all they have left to fight for this term is improvement with a look ahead to future campaigns. St Helens can never be in that position but they were in danger of this season getting away from them so the emphatic demolition of Catalans last week came at the right time but it was a visibly jaded Dragons side they beat and they need to be equally as dominant here if they are going to convince me that they are back on the right track. I don’t really trust either of these sides so this one is a fairly easy one to leave alone.

Warrington Wolves vs Hull KR (20.00 – Sky Sports Action)
The main TV cameras will head to the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday night for the Challenge Cup final rehearsal between the Warrington Wolves and Hull KR where laying down a marker for the Wembley showpiece will doubtlessly be on the mind of both sides.
This feels like a big match for Warrington. Their season is at a bit of a crossroads despite the fact that they have made it to the Challenge Cup final. They will go there as heavy outsiders but if they can put up a strong showing here and prove that they can handle the Robins it will give them confidence ahead of that one. Hull KR will be out to take that confidence away. Warrington are littered with injuries at the minute though so you sense that Hull KR are catching them at the right time, not that the league leaders need any help in winning matches at the minute. Warrington look like a bit of a wounded team at present and that is the last thing you need to be when facing a rampant Hull KR side. I expect Hull KR to win this and they have the quality across the park to win it with a bit in hand as well. Wakefield just put 40 points up on this Warrington side and the longer that game went on the less the resistance became and this is a much more potent and relentless Hull KR side they are facing here. The Robins have already gone to St Helens and Hull FC and won by double figures and I expect similar here.
