The Super League XXX season comes to a close on Saturday evening when the two sides who met in the Grand Final at Old Trafford last term head there again when Hull KR take on Wigan Warriors for the title.
Wigan Warriors won the final last season and will be out for a three-peat having won the title the year before too. Hull KR have won the Challenge Cup and the League Leaders’ Shield and will be looking to complete a rare domestic treble. This final is nicely poised.
Where to watch
The match will be shown live and in full on the Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports+ channels with the extended build-up beginning at 5pm ahead of the 6pm kick off.
Hull KR
The table toppers go into the Grand Final as the outsiders to get the job done but they have been the best team in the country in 2025 and will be looking for one last great performance to crown off what has been a remarkable campaign. This season will go down in Robins’ history whatever happens here but they can put themselves in with the best domestic sides there have been if they win this final.
The Hull KR success this term has been based on their defensive intensity, especially in the opening 20 minutes where they often get on top of their opponents and never relent from there. You get the feeling that if they are going to be successful in this final then they are going to need to be extremely clinical with the chances that come their way as they could be few and far between in a match of this magnitude.
Wigan Warriors
This is a scenario which the Wigan Warriors are perfectly used to. They know all about getting to the Grand Final and getting the job done when they get to the big dance and having won the last two Old Trafford showpieces they will be confident of a third success, especially as they are peaking at the right time as they so often do. The ruthless fashion in which they took care of the Leigh Leopards last week suggests that the champions are fully ready to retain their title.
The Warriors are extremely comfortable at Old Trafford and are incredibly tough to penetrate on this pitch. In each of the two Grand Final wins in the last two years they have conceded just a penalty on each occasion and that will give them a lot of confidence when it comes to repelling this dangerous Hull KR attacking unit. Another thing that will give them confidence is the spine of their side being back together and ready to rumble.

Team News
Hull KR boss Willie Peters has reported no injury concerns ahead of the Grand Final so he could name the same starting 13 that won the semi-final against St Helens last week. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves will play the final game of his career in this match.
Wigan Warriors coach Matty Peet has also had the luxury of naming an unchanged squad for this Grand Final and there isn’t expected to be any changes in his starting 13 either. All eyes will be on Junior Nsemba who could light up this contest.
Betting
This should be a cracking Grand Final and while I wouldn’t put anyone taking Hull KR as the value call, the better bet in this match looks to be under 26.5 points at even money. Only one of the last nine Grand Final matches have reached 30 points and six in that time have seen the under on this line cover, including last year when just 11 points were scored when these two went at it. These are the two strongest defences in Super League and they rarely allow themselves to get exposed.
Wigan Warriors have conceded six points or less in their last six matches and Hull KR don’t concede many points either. The previous meeting between these two teams had just 16 points in it and while the other battle was higher scoring, it came days after an emotional derby win for Hull KR in the Challenge Cup where the Robins just ran out of juice. That won’t be the case here and with points naturally at a premium in finals I expect this to be low scoring and to stay under 26.5 points.
