The Super League weekend continues with another two matches on Saturday on a day where a couple of the better sides in the competition will once again showcase their stuff as we head towards the final third of the campaign.
I’m sure everyone knows the drill by now but both matches are available on TV to watch on Saturday although they are being shown on the streaming channel rather than the main one. If you have a bet though it is easy enough to follow it.
Leigh Leopards vs Hull KR (15.00 – Sky Sports+)
The opening game of the day is very much the main one as the league leaders Hull KR look to bounce back from their defeat to Leeds last week when they make the trip to the Leigh Leopards for the latest leg of a rivalry which has built up since the 2023 Challenge Cup final.
Leigh won that match and after beating Wigan last week they are looking to complete the immediate double of wins over the top two here. Hull KR have been without a doubt the best team of the season so far, not only have they opened up a sizable gap at the top of Super League but they are also the Challenge Cup winners. We get to see a bit more of what they are made of here after a defeat last week. This certainly isnt an easy assignment for the Robins, especially as they are without Mikey Lewis who is out on the concussion protocols. Leigh look to be getting more solid the longer the season goes on but I can’t quite bring myself to back them against Hull KR here. Leigh haven’t scored a point against Hull KR in any of their last three meetings and while I would be hugely surprised if that doesn’t change here, it leads me to the bet that I like which is for there to be under 38.5 points. These are two pretty solid defences who can muscle up when needed. Leigh sometimes struggle to break teams down and Hull KR are missing their x-factor so under 38.5 points looks a solid play to me.

Catalans Dragons vs Warrington Wolves (18.00 – Sky Sports+)
The second match of the day takes us to France for the clash between the Catalans Dragons and the Warrington Wolves, arguably the two biggest disappointments in terms of failing on expectations in the competition so far.
Neither of these teams are where they would have wanted to be this season but successive wins have at least closed the gap on themselves and the top six for the Warrington Wolves. A run of one win in nine in all competitions has left the Catalans Dragons needing something special from here if they are going to extend their campaign. The reality for the French outfit is that they have 10 matches left to get their ducks in place ready to deliver a much stronger showing next season than they have been able to offer up in this one. The big issue for the Dragons is when they are beaten they are not even being competitive. Their last six defeats have been by margins of 40, 48, 34, 62, 14 and 38 so when the opposition get on top of the Catalans they are able to pummel them which is the opposite of what we would expect of this club. Warrington could well be the latest to do that. They look like they are beginning to find something despite all of their injuries and Sam Burgess seems the sort of coach to get a siege mentality among his players whenever people are writing him and them off. That has certainly been the case in recent times but if the Wolves can get out in front here, they could run off into the sunset like others have against Catalans over the last couple of months. Warrington won in France last year and I fancy them to do the same again and to win by more than four points.
