UEFA Nations League 2022-23 – Monday 6th June Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The second set of matches in the UEFA Nations League continues on Monday evening when another bunch of games take place as the groups on show begin to take shape as the first third of the campaign comes to a close.

Monday evening sees the defending champions France back on show along with plenty of other nations who will be either eyeing up a shot at glory next summer or looking to bolster their chances of securing a place at Euro 2024.

League A

There are two matches in the top league on Monday. The one where most of the attention will be is the repeat of the last World Cup final where Croatia take on the defending champions France. Croatia have the chance for a bit of revenge and with both teams losing their opening game it is a pretty important one in the overall picture in this group. The other A1 match on Monday evening sees an impressive Denmark side taking on Austria who had a good win over Croatia to start their campaign.

League B

With Russia thrown out of the competition we are left with just the one match in League B on Monday evening. That comes in what looks like a fairly even match between Iceland and Albania with Israel left watching on as they are the other team who are competing in B2. They drew with Iceland in the opening match so were there not to be a winner in this game you would suggest that Israel would be in a good early position.

Leagues C + D

There are four matches taking place in the bottom two leagues on Monday evening with C3 playing their second set of games. Slovakia are the big nation in that group and they welcome Kazakhstan to that part of the world while Belarus plays Azerbaijan in the other game. D1 is the other group on show with Latvia looking to build on their win over Andorra in their opening game when they take on Liechtenstein. The other game sees Andorra looking to bounce back from defeat when they host Moldova.

Betting

It looks like Croatia are going to be without Luka Modric once again on Monday evening and with Ivan Perisic expected to miss the game as well I am expecting France to take advantage of that. Both these countries lost their opening match of the competition but I think the French loss to Denmark was nowhere near as bad as the Croatian one to Austria, even allowing for the fact that Austria might have been benefitted from the new manager effect.

France are the reigning world champions, the current holders of this title and may well have been European champions had penalties not been their downfall last summer and although not having Paul Pogba, who seems to tick in this side, isn’t ideal, they will still have the two best players on the pitch in Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe. Croatia haven’t really done a huge amount since reaching that World Cup final four years ago and I’m not expecting much more from them here either.
