UEFA Nations League 2022-23 – Sunday 5th June Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The second round of matches in the UEFA Nations League gets underway on Sunday as teams who started their campaign in positive fashion look to extend their good start while those who were not so fortunate will look to get their competition back on track.

The teams in action on Sunday were the ones who opened up their campaign on Thursday evening which means that we get another chance to see the likes of Spain, Portugal and Switzerland on show over the course of the day.

League A

There is just the one group on show over the course of Sunday and that is A2. Czech Republic were the only team to win on Thursday evening and they can take a real advantage in the group if they can pick up another victory when they play host to Spain. Spain were held by Portugal on Thursday and both sides will be looking for their first win here. Portugal host a Switzerland side who went down in Prague and will be keen for a positive result here to get back on track.

League B

There is just the one group on show in League B on Sunday as well and that one is B4 where all eyes will be on the Scandinavian pair of Sweden and Norway after they opened up the group with a win. They meet on Sunday with the winner ending the round on top of the group. Serbia and Slovenia lost their opening matches and will be keen to make up for that when they meet in Belgrade on Sunday, with the onus on Serbia to get a win with them having just one home match left after this one.

Leagues C + D

There is plenty of action in the bottom two leagues over the course of Sunday. One of the groups on show is C2 where we have an early kick off between Cyprus and Northern Ireland with both teams looking to bounce back from disappointing defeats in their opening match. Kosovo and Greece meet in the other game with top spot in the group up for grabs there. C4 is another group on show on Sunday where the minnows Gibraltar host North Macedomia in the earlier kick off and Bulgaria welcome Georgia in the other game. San Marino and Malta get the day underway in D2.

Betting

Serbia didn’t get their campaign off to the best start in the world on Thursday evening when they lost at home to Norway but they can get back on track when they host Slovenia on Sunday night. Slovenia have a really poor away record in recent times with just the one win in their last 10 away outings. That came against Malta so it wasn’t like that was unexpected in any way. Among the other matches they have lost in Cyprus which really doesn’t paint their form in a good light.

Serbia have a wealth of talent, especially in the attacking areas and although they couldn’t get the ball in the back of the net against Norway, I don’t expect them to repeat that here against a Slovenia side who are anything but watertight. Whether Thursday was just one of those nights or a bit of rust that needed to come out I expect Serbia to come on for the run here and put a pretty ordinary Slovenia side to the sword.
