Vitality Blast 2022 – Wednesday 8th June Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The Vitality Blast continues on Wednesday evening as a number of sides either reach the halfway mark of their campaign or get closer to it on a night where one of the greatest cricketing rivalries gets renewed.

There are three matches in total with one of them televised for us to enjoy. That one won’t be on the live stream but there will be streams available for the other two so there is no need to miss out on any of the action.

North Group

The televised match comes from the North Group on Wednesday evening where the two Roses rivals meet as Yorkshire look to build on their win over Nottinghamshire on Monday night when they host unbeaten Lancashire to Headingley. These two have already tied this season and it will be interesting to see if this one can be as close as that one was. The Birmingham Bears will be looking to reclaim second spot in the table in the other match. They make the trip to Durham who have slumped a bit in recent outings.

South Group

There is only the one match in the South Group on Wednesday evening but it could be a hugely significant one at the top of the table as the leaders Surrey are in action. They have been every bit as dominant as they were expected to be this term and could move three points clear at the top if they can overcome a Sussex side who themselves will move into the top three should they manage to find a win. With injuries starting to build up that won’t be easy for the Sharks.

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of bets over the course of the evening with the first coming in the TV match between Yorkshire and Lancashire where I’m expecting to see more than 41.5 boundaries. There were 41 boundaries when these two met in the reverse meeting at Old Trafford but that is a significantly bigger ground than Headingley is these days as I intimated on Monday when taking the sixes here. There were 43 boundaries in that match and that was in a game where Nottinghamshire were 50-5. That was a match where Alex Hales and Joe Clarke faced six balls between them. These two sides are extremely powerful with the bat regardless of whether Liam Livingstone plays or not and as I keep mentioning the boundaries here are very short. I’ll take the over here.

The other bet I like is for Birmingham Bears to beat Durham. After a positive start Durham have completely lost their way and at present all they have beaten is an inconsistent Leicestershire side and a Worcestershire team who haven’t got going yet this season and who were missing plenty of key players. To their credit, Durham have put some decent totals on the board this season but this Bears attack is probably the best in the North Group so I don’t see them doing that very easily here. Indeed, their second lowest score of the season came against the Bears which Birmingham chased down without too many problems. There was no Sam Hain for the Bears in that match and he is available for this one so I fully expect a Bears win here.
