Vitality T20 Blast 2025 – Wednesday 4th June Matches Tips and Betting Preview

There are two more matches in the Vitality Blast taking place on Wednesday as four teams look to improve their position in the North Group on an evening where the domestic T20 competition concludes its opening week.

The women’s ODI has the TV attention on Wednesday so once again if you have a bet on either of these matches and want to follow it ball by ball then you will have to load up the live stream offered by the home side.

Lancashire vs Leicestershire (18.30)

We head to Old Trafford for the opening game of the evening where the pacesetters Lancashire look to make it four wins from four when they host a Leicestershire side who are coming off the back of their first loss of the season in all competitions.

Lancashire have played three and won them all but you would have to say they lived a bit of a charmed life in a couple of them, but winning tight matches is never a bad habit to get into. Leicestershire were good winners of their first game but were out of the loss at Northamptonshire after four overs of their batting effort and they will be looking to impose themselves much more with the bat in this contest. I’m still not convinced by Lancashire but I have maintained that Leicestershire will improve once they get their two best bowlers back from England Lions duty so rather than get involved in the match betting I’ll go with a performance bet. That comes in the form of Luke Wells who we know will have a big role to play in the match. He will open the batting for Lancashire and he will bowl some overs as well. Wells has a wicket in two of the three innings he has bowled in and with the bat he has innings of 35 and 87 in his three knocks. A combination of two of those will get us home but he could well cover a 41.5 line with the bat as well so I like the over on the performance of the veteran.

Derbyshire vs Northamptonshire (19.00)

The other match takes us to the County Ground in Derby where Derbyshire will look to get their first win of the campaign at the second time of asking when they host a Northamptonshire side who have won both of their opening games.

Derbyshire never really looked in the hunt in their first game against Leicestershire and it will be interesting to see whether that was just a poor performance or whether they aren’t quite up to the mark this term. We will get a better indication either way here. Northamptonshire look right on it. They plundered the runs in their opening win against Yorkshire and then won a lower scoring match against Leicestershire and have ticked all the boxes with bat and ball and might still have more to find as their overseas pair adjust to the conditions and the competition. I would expect Northants to win this but we haven’t seen enough of Derbyshire to make a fair and accurate assessment of them so I’ll use this one as a watching brief rather than take a risk I don’t need to take.
