The WDF World Darts Championship continues inside the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green on Tuesday evening when another six second round matches from both the men’s and women’s competitions are played out.
There are some decent matches on the schedule as a load more seeds get their campaign underway as we begin to meander towards the stage of the tournament where the quality and drama is likely to dramatically ramp up.
First Three Matches
It is the fifth seed Benjamin Pratnemer who opens up the session on Tuesday. The Slovenian ace will be looking to make it through when he takes on the German player Daniel Bauerdick who is likely to need a massive improvement on his first round effort to progress. The highest seed on show in either draw on Tuesday evening is Lorraine Hyde. The second seed takes on the Turkish player Emine Dursun before we get to the halfway point of the session with a meeting of the Belgian player Francois Schweyen and the Dutch Open champion Jeffrey Sparidaans.

Later Four Matches
We stay in the men’s draw to open up the second part of the evening where ‘Superman’ Matt Clark will meet the dangerous Japanese player Haruki Muramatsu for a spot in the last 16 in what looks like the pick of the matches on the card. We then return to the women’s draw for the match between the seventh seed Tracy Feiertag and Priscilla Steenbergen, who looked quite assured in the opening round. We conclude the night with the two alternates doing battle when Marcus Maier, in the draw because David Pallett was a late scratch, takes on Sybren Gijbels, the man who is taking advantage of the withdrawal of Boris Krcmar.
Betting
There really isn’t too much that I like the look of over the course of the night on Tuesday but going into the tournament I was keen to take Lorraine Hyde on and I’ll do that. I actually thought that the Turkish player Emine Dursun looked good in the first round. It isn’t necessarily easy to face a slow player and look good, especially when it is your debut on this famous stage, but Dursun did that and a repeat of her 73.43 average would have her more than competitive here.
Hyde has gone pretty well on the WDF scene this season and capped that when she won the World Masters but others did a lot of the hard yards for her in that tournament and while you can only beat what is in front of you, this feels a bigger test than that. Hyde arrived here last year quietly fancied and lost to a Japanese qualifier and I’m far from convinced she won’t go the same way here. Dursun showed enough to suggest she can win this but if there is more to come from her then she is certainly the one to be on.

Back E.Dursun to beat L.Hyde for a 3/10 stake at 2.00 with Bet365
